Hanoi Railway Transport Branch said that from December 15, 2024, the railway will start selling monthly tickets to serve passengers traveling on the Hanoi - Hai Phong train route running from January 1, 2025.
Monthly tickets are used to travel on trains every day of the month and the number of trips is unlimited. Passengers can use all types of seats except high-quality cars. In case the train is full, passengers can be transferred to another train.

Specifically, in terms of ticket price, a short-distance monthly ticket is 600,000 VND/ticket for the following routes: Departure station is Hanoi, Long Bien, Gia Lam station and arrival station is Cam Giang, Hai Duong station or vice versa; Departure station is Hai Phong, Thuong Ly station and arrival station is Cam Giang, Hai Duong, Phu Thai station or vice versa.
Long-distance monthly tickets cost 880,000 VND/ticket for the following routes: Departure stations are Hanoi, Long Bien, Gia Lam and arrival stations are Phu Thai, Thuong Ly, Hai Phong or vice versa.
Regarding the conditions for applying the monthly ticket policy: A passenger can only buy one monthly ticket in one month, on one route.
When purchasing a monthly ticket, passengers must pay the ticket price immediately and provide relevant information such as: Full name of the passenger; ID card/passport number to issue a monthly ticket code.
Passengers who purchase monthly tickets cannot exchange or return tickets; Not applicable at the same time with other incentive programs, including passengers who are social policy beneficiaries, children, pupils, and students.
Tickets are only sold at the ticket gates of railway stations. After purchasing tickets, passengers can register to reserve seats on the Vietnam Railways ticket sales website: dsvn.vn; or go to the railway station to get support from staff.
After successfully registering to reserve a seat, passengers go to the station to get a Boarding Pass 15 minutes to 24 hours before the train departs to board the train.
Passengers can only reserve seats until 15 minutes before the train departs; if the passenger does not come to the station to get the Boarding Pass, the ticket will be automatically returned to the ticketing system.
In case the passenger does not register to reserve a seat, the passenger can go to the station to get the Boarding Pass within 24 hours before the train departure time. At that time, the passenger will use the type of seat available on the train, except for the high-quality carriage. If there is no more seat, the passenger can transfer to another train.
