BAC GIANG On May 27, the People's Committee of Tan Yen district (Bac Giang) held a conference to connect and promote the consumption of the district's early-ripening lychee products.
Central Retail Group's Board of Directors directly participates in promoting the consumption of Tan Yen lychee, Bac Giang.
At the conference, Central Retail Group signed a memorandum of understanding to consume Tan Yen early-ripening lychees in 2024 and performed a ribbon-cutting ceremony to bring Tan Yen early-ripening lychees into Central Retail's distribution system.
Mr. Jose Mestre, Fresh Food Commercial Director of Central Retail Group said: “In order to promote the consumption of early-ripening lychees, for many months, Central Retail's purchasing team has been regularly present in Bac Giang province to guide businesses, cooperatives, and suppliers of the province on the conditions, procedures, and documents to bring lychees and other key agricultural products of Bac Giang to consumption at Central Retail's food retail supermarket system. In addition, Central Retail also promotes cooperation with e-commerce sites and through the apps GO!, Big C, Tops Market to promote the consumption of lychees on online channels".
Currently, GO! and Tops Market supermarkets nationwide have arranged beautiful locations right at the supermarket entrance to display eye-catching early-ripening lychees, creating highlights and attracting consumers to choose to buy the first bunches of lychees of the season with beautiful designs and high quality.

In addition, to attract customers and create more added value for lychee, Central Retail supermarkets also introduce lychee-based foods and drinks such as lychee sponge cake, peach lychee tea, lotus seed lychee tea, etc.
This year, Central Retail continues to promote the export of lychees from Bac Giang province to the Thai market through the Group's retail system in Thailand.
In particular, on June 30, Central Retail will launch "Fruit Festival" at all GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarkets nationwide, in which lychee will be one of the main products.
With a series of lychee consumption stimulus programs, it is expected that in the 2024 lychee season, Central Retail's GO!, Tops Market, and mini go! supermarkets will consume about 300 tons of lychee, equivalent to last year's lychee season (due to the influence of unusual weather, this year's lychee crop failed, lychee output is expected to decrease by half compared to last year, and the selling price is expected to increase by about 40%).
