Nha Trang and Mang Den tourism wins big on September 2nd holiday

During the 4-day September 2 holiday, 578,219 tourists came to visit and relax in Khanh Hoa, with total tourism revenue of more than 756 billion VND. In Mang Den town (Kon Plong, Kon Tum), the number of visitors exceeded expectations.

On the morning of September 3, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism - said that the number of visitors to Khanh Hoa for the September 2 holiday tends to increase compared to the same period last year.

"This year, the September 2 holiday lasts 4 days with beautiful, cool weather, creating favorable conditions for people to visit, travel, enjoy cuisine in many places, and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere," said Ms. Thanh. According to the report of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa for sightseeing and relaxation reached 578,219, the average room occupancy rate of accommodation facilities is about 70.86%. The Bai Dai, Doc Let areas and closed resorts on the islands have an occupancy rate of 70% or more, some resorts have a room occupancy rate of over 90%. The Nha Trang City area has an average occupancy rate of about 60% or more (mainly focusing on the 3-5 star segment and equivalent), some hotels along Tran Phu beach have an occupancy rate of over 70%. According to Cam Ranh International Airport, from August 31 to September 3, the total number of takeoffs and landings at Cam Ranh International Airport reached about 450, an increase of 5% over the same period in 2023. Of which, there were 254 international takeoffs and landings, and 196 domestic takeoffs and landings. This year, since the opening of the Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressways, personal transportation has increased, and tourists tend to travel independently, so travel companies have not been able to increase the number of group guests.

30,000 visitors came to Mang Den to celebrate September 2nd, exceeding all expectations

On September 3, Mr. Pham Van Thang - Vice Chairman of Kon Plong District People's Committee (Kon Tum Province) - said that during the National Day holiday of September 2 this year, Mang Den tourist center welcomed about 30,000 visitors. Notably, the most optimistic forecasts before the holiday given by Kon Plong District authorities only estimated about 20,000 visitors. Therefore, the actual number of visitors welcomed in Mang Den during this occasion exceeded the forecast by 1.5 times. Since the beginning of 2024, this tourist town has welcomed nearly 1 million visitors.

Mr. Thang said that during the two peak days of September 1 and 2, all hotel rooms, homestays, motels, etc. in the area were full. On the remaining days of the holiday, the number of guests staying was also very high, averaging over 70% of room capacity. According to a survey by the authorities, in general, tourists coming to Mang Den during the holiday had positive reviews of the programs and activities organized. In particular, tourists especially appreciated the culinary competition and gong competition in the Mang Den market space. During the holiday, the weather in Mang Den was cool and dry, favorable for locals and tourists to visit and organize outdoor activities. Mr. Bui Viet Ha - Chairman of the Mang Den Tourism Association - said that during this year's holiday, tourist establishments reported serving a much higher number of guests than the same period last year. Restaurants, eateries, cafes, entertainment venues, etc. were all packed with tourists during the 4-day holiday. "Due to the large number of visitors, there were times when tourists had to queue at food and restaurant locations to wait for their turn to be served. But fortunately, up to now, the tourist support center has not heard any complaints about the attitude and service quality of tourist establishments during this holiday," said Mr. Ha.
