The Cong - Viettel Club temporarily borrows Hang Day stadium as home ground

The Cong - Viettel Club has reached an agreement to rent Hang Day Stadium for matches of rounds 20, 21 and 24 of V-League 2024 - 2025. Coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his team will welcome opponents Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA), SHB Da Nang and Hai Phong at 7:15 p.m. on April 25, May 2 and May 23, instead of the old schedule on April 26, May 2 and May 24.

This is the second time in the V-League this season that The Cong - Viettel Club has had to borrow Hang Day Stadium as its home ground due to My Dinh Stadium being held for an event.

The previous event took place at the end of October 2024, My Dinh Stadium was rented out to host a Korean music concert. This time, My Dinh Stadium will host a cultural event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

Thus, Hang Day Stadium will again have a situation where three clubs play at the same home ground. This is only a short-term solution by The Cong - Viettel Club, so it may not violate the regulations of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Previously, AFC limited a stadium to a maximum of two home clubs for the entire season, effective from October 2023.

This is the main reason why Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) has to make efforts to persuade three clubs Hanoi, The Cong - Viettel and Cong An Hanoi to have one team change their home stadium before the 2023 - 2024 season.

Hang Day Stadium has been the home stadium of Hanoi FC and The Cong - Viettel for many years in the V-League.

Since Hanoi Police Club was promoted in 2023, this team (formerly known as People's Police Club) has moved its headquarters from Ninh Binh to Hung Yen and chosen Hang Day as its home ground.

In the end, The Cong - Viettel was the team that left and they chose to register My Dinh Stadium as their home ground from the 2024 - 2025 season.
