With a variety of events, cultural and tourism activities, and preparations by tourism areas, locations and businesses, Thanh Hoa promises to be a vibrant destination, with an explosion in the number of visitors.
Positive effects of long vacation
According to records from travel businesses in the province, the number of customers booking tours and tourism services during the Lunar New Year holiday has so far reached about 30% of the plan, and this number is forecast to continue to increase sharply in the coming time.
Head of the Travel Association (Provincial Tourism Association) Vu Van Binh said: “The 9-day Lunar New Year holiday announced early not only creates conditions for tourists to have more options, but also gives travel businesses time to prepare services, distribute the number of guests better, and reduce pressure on transportation and tour guides on peak days. Up to now, the supply of guests from domestic travel businesses to Thanh Hoa during the Lunar New Year holiday has increased by about 10% over the same period; the number of individual guests booking services and travel combos in Thanh Hoa has also started to increase slightly, about 10 - 15% over the same period. The number of guests during the Lunar New Year holiday may increase by 20 - 30% over the same period in 2024”.
Grasping the needs of tourists, this year, Thanh Hoa province has also announced the schedule of cultural, sports and tourism events. In particular, the event to welcome the new year 2025 and cultural programs and spring festivals in tourist areas and spots are of great interest to tourists. According to a survey of a number of travel agencies, the trend of choosing a vacation during the Lunar New Year holiday is currently focusing on 3-day 2-night and 4-day 3-night tours. In particular, tours to Thanh Hoa are focusing on a number of cultural, spiritual and resort destinations such as: Sam Son coastal urban area, Doc Cuoc temple, Co Tien temple (Sam Son city); Flamingo Ibiza Hai Tien resort complex (Hoang Hoa); Nua - Am Tien temple historical relic - scenic spot (Trieu Son); Lam Kinh historical relic, Lamori Resort & Spa (Tho Xuan); Cua Dat temple historical relic - scenic spot (Thuong Xuan); Cultural heritage of Ho Dynasty Citadel (Vinh Loc)... Along with that, mountain community eco-tourism areas are also a popular choice for many tourists, especially international visitors.
Deputy Director of Le Gia Trade and Tourism Joint Stock Company (Thanh Hoa City) Phan Thi Ha said: “The 2025 Lunar New Year holiday is truly a driving force to stimulate tourism demand, promoting the excitement of spring tour products. If every year, travel agencies in the province mainly exploit domestic tourists, this year, attracting domestic and international tourists to Thanh Hoa has been more focused. According to a survey from Le Gia Travel's customer file, up to 70% of tourists are willing to participate in 2-3 tours during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. Based on the needs of tourists, our spring tour to explore Thanh land does not only stop at sightseeing, sightseeing, but also combines relaxation and cultural experiences. We believe that the province's tourism market during the Lunar New Year holiday will be very exciting and promises many innovations in tourism products".
Ready to welcome guests
To prepare for welcoming visitors during the upcoming Lunar New Year, tourism service areas, destinations and businesses in the province have been focusing on investing in product development, upgrading quality and innovating services. Plans to organize cultural activities, festivals, landscape decoration in line with the Tet theme... are currently being urgently implemented by destinations and businesses. In localities with key tourist areas and destinations of the province such as Thanh Hoa city, Sam Son city, Nghi Son town, Tho Xuan, Hoang Hoa, Vinh Loc districts... have issued plans to organize entertainment activities during the Lunar New Year.
In particular, Thanh Hoa City has announced many attractive events for travel businesses, people and tourists to grasp. Notably, the series of events: Art program on New Year's Eve of At Ty Spring (from 11pm on January 28, the 29th of Tet - 00:15 am on January 29, the 1st of Tet); exhibition on the Communist Party of Vietnam, at the Provincial Museum (from January 25 to February 15); "Ancient Space", at the Provincial Museum (starting from January 20); activities "Old Tet in the ancient village", at Dong Son ancient village (February 1, the 4th of Tet)...
Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thanh Hoa City, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hien said: “Lunar New Year is a special holiday, where tourists have the opportunity to learn and experience the unique cultural values of the land and people of Thanh in general, and Thanh Hoa City in particular. Up to now, destinations in the city are urgently completing preparations and beautifying the landscape and environment. Along with that, the Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association is also actively promoting and advertising to tourists a series of attractive events in early spring. With a variety of tourism products, along with a series of cultural, sports and tourism events lasting throughout the Lunar New Year holiday, it is hoped that Thanh Hoa City tourism will leave a good impression in the hearts of the people and tourists."
To ensure the safety of visitors during the Lunar New Year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document directing and guiding localities, management boards of tourist areas and destinations, and tourism businesses to develop plans and proactively prepare necessary conditions to serve visitors. On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with departments, branches, and functional units to strengthen the management of destinations, control the quality of tourism services and means of serving visitors; resolutely and strictly handle negative manifestations, taking advantage of cultural activities and festivals during the Lunar New Year holiday to engage in superstitious activities, and make illegal profits...
