Tourists brave the rain to 'reserve a spot' on the banks of the Han River to watch fireworks

On the afternoon of June 10, the weather in Da Nang City had showers, a few hours before the fireworks competition between the two "newbies" at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023. Despite the rain, many people still flocked along Tran Hung Dao Street (Son Tra District, Da Nang City) to find a good place to watch the fireworks.

Young people from many provinces and cities arrived on the east bank of the Han River (Da Nang City) very early in the morning, braving the rain to "reserve a spot" to watch the fireworks.

Although the teams competing in the second night of DIFF 2023 will not officially "open fire" until 8:00 p.m. tonight (June 10), according to Thanh Nien reporters, despite the increasingly heavy rain, from 5:00 p.m., many people and tourists have flocked to the locations next to the stands to "reserve seats" to watch the fireworks.

Talking to reporters, Trinh Thanh Xuan (20 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) said that Thanh Xuan and a group of friends took a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang City early this afternoon to watch the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023. They arrived very early at the launch site along the east bank of the Han River (Son Tra District) to find a place to watch the fireworks for free.

Thanh Xuan said: "This is the first time I have seen international fireworks at an ideal distance. Therefore, the whole group was determined to carry umbrellas and wear raincoats to fully watch the performance of the two teams Canada and France."

Early in the morning, people and tourists braved the rain to arrive at the Han River bank (Da Nang City) to wait and watch the fireworks.

Also arriving very early along the east bank of the Han River, the family of Mr. Pham Bach (62 years old, residing in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang) said that this time his family welcomed a group of friends from Quang Binh province to admire the "specialty" of Da Nang fireworks. However, because conditions did not allow buying tickets to the stands, Mr. Bach's family and his group of friends chose the park on the east bank of the Han River to watch the fireworks.

"From Quang Binh province, my friends took the whole family to Da Nang to watch the fireworks. They weren't afraid of the distance, so why should we be afraid of the rain? Everyone decided to eat seafood on Tran Hung Dao street, then put on raincoats and move to the park to watch the fireworks for free," said Mr. Bach.

Tourists carry umbrellas and raincoats to find places to watch international fireworks.

For tourists, sitting on the riverbank watching fireworks up close for free is a great thing.

A large number of people and tourists gathered at Tran Hung Dao Park (Son Tra District, Da Nang City) to watch the fireworks competition between the Canadian and French fireworks teams.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (residing in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang) said that every year the weather on the night of the fireworks display is clear and very suitable for photography enthusiasts to set up a tripod to take pictures of the fireworks.

"The opening night of the competition was very nice, although it rained on the second night, but I found it very normal, I'm used to wearing raincoats for both myself and my camera. Every year I come very early to find a nice place to take pictures... it's my passion," Mr. Dong laughed.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (residing in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang) wore a raincoat, waiting for the fireworks to start to "hunt" for photos.

With the theme "Love without borders", the second night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023 promises to create a spectacular "aurora borealis" competition on the Han River between the two teams Canada - France. The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival DIFF 2023 with the theme "World without distance" takes place from June 2 to July 8 at the fireworks stage on the Han River, with 5 competition nights and the participation of 8 fireworks teams, including 7 international teams: England, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland and the Vietnamese representative team (Da Nang team).
