The results showed that more than 65% of those tested were found to have health abnormalities, including many cases of asymptomatic diseases such as early-stage cancer and lifestyle-related metabolic disorders, which had no signs of disease and had never been previously diagnosed.
This data was announced by a representative of NURA Vietnam after the center received nearly 9,000 screenings since its official launch in Hanoi in July 2024. Among them, many cases were found to be at risk of cardiovascular, metabolic and cancer diseases at a very early stage - when the disease had not yet shown clinical symptoms.
65% of customers discovered health abnormalities
"About 30% of customers participating in screening at the center were identified as having a moderate to high risk of myocardial infarction. In addition, more than 60% of cases recorded visceral fat index exceeding the normal threshold - a risk factor related to metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. For the group of female customers, more than 5,000 people underwent in-depth mammography - an important imaging technique in early detection of breast cancer. The results showed that about 30% of cases had suspicious signs, many of which were supported with early diagnosis and timely intervention. Most of the customers had never undergone in-depth screening before," said Master, Doctor of Medicine Nguyen Tat Dat - Deputy Director of NURA Imaging Diagnostic Center.
AI system to localize and detect abnormalities
One of the early detection cases is a 70-year-old patient NTN (Hanoi), with no medical history, who went for a routine check-up and was detected by NURA's AI system with a 7mm lesion in the left breast, with a 97% risk of cancer. The biopsy results confirmed the lesion was malignant. Although the initial image showed the lesion was in the early stage (1A), the post-operative pathology results showed that it had progressed to stage 2, a rapidly progressing type. This case demonstrates the role of AI technology in supporting early detection of breast cancer, even when there are no clinical symptoms.
The trend of "proactive" health screening in "changing" times
According to experts, dangerous diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, etc. often progress silently, without obvious symptoms in the early stages. Especially in Vietnam, many cancer cases are only detected in the late stages - while the patient has no previous abnormal symptoms. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hai Anh - Professional Director of NURA Vietnam, former Deputy Director of the Respiratory Center, Bach Mai Hospital: "In Vietnam, most people only go to medical facilities when symptoms appear. Meanwhile, many dangerous diseases, especially cancer and cardiovascular diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc., do not have obvious symptoms in the early stages, leading to late diagnosis and difficult treatment".
The number of more than 65% of customers found to have health abnormalities after screening at NURA Center is a concrete proof of this situation - at the same time showing the urgent need for proactive comprehensive health screening; to detect diseases early & promptly.
Proactively screen for health early and regularly
In the context of a volatile life and increasingly unpredictable risks, early screening has become a trend for people who proactively protect their health - not only to detect diseases early, but also as a way to comprehensively manage risks, including both health and finances. Thanks to the development of science and technology, modern screening models such as NURA are meeting three important criteria at the same time: accuracy, safety and convenience, contributing to making periodic health check-ups more accessible and effective than ever.
Accurate, safe, convenient screening with modern AI technology
NURA uses exclusive AI from Fujifilm Japan - this technology has been certified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and deployed in many countries such as India, Mongolia, etc. This system allows to localize and detect lesions as small as 1mm, even at stage 0 - when the disease has not yet shown clinical symptoms. AI can automatically recreate 3D models of lesions, analyze medical images, assess the level of risk and support doctors in making treatment decisions.
NURA applies exclusive AI technology from Fujifilm Japan
Sharing about the ability to detect early when applying AI technology, MSc. Dr. Nguyen Tat Dat added: "The AI system at NURA is developed based on 400 million image data, allowing to shorten analysis time and achieve high sensitivity in diagnosis. Thanks to that, AI can accurately detect lesions of only a few millimeters - a very small level that the naked eye can easily miss. This is an important factor in helping to identify diseases at an early stage, thereby increasing the chance of effective treatment and reducing long-term medical treatment costs. In particular, another highlight is the ability to reduce up to 97% of radiation dose thanks to AI noise reduction, ensuring safety; thereby allowing many customer groups to easily perform screening".
The entire screening process for 14 cancers, 22 lifestyle diseases and many other indicators at NURA is performed in about 120 minutes, with a transparent all-inclusive cost and a cancer insurance package worth up to 600 million VND. Thanks to modern AI applications, NURA supports early detection of abnormalities, thereby improving treatment effectiveness, reducing medical costs and protecting long-term quality of life.
