World oil prices today
World oil prices fluctuated strongly last week, continuously increasing in the first trading sessions of the week and decreasing sharply at the end of the week. At the end of the trading week, WTI crude oil was at 74.96 USD/barrel last week, down to 73.65 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall, WTI crude oil decreased by 1.31 USD/barrel last week, equivalent to a decrease of 1.7% compared to the previous week.
Brent crude oil was at $79.02/barrel last week, down to $76.93/barrel this week. Overall, Brent crude oil fell $2.09/barrel last week, down 2.6% from the previous week.
Oil prices have fallen for a second consecutive week, analysts said, as investors weighed expectations for increased OPEC+ supply starting in October, along with fading hopes for a sharp US interest rate cut next month following data showing strong consumer spending.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On September 1, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 29. Accordingly, the price of diesel oil decreased the most, by 299 VND/liter, followed by RON 95-III gasoline, down 208 VND/liter. Fuel oil decreased by 194 VND/kg, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 92 VND/liter. Kerosene decreased the least, by 84 VND/liter.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, September 1, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on September 1: Oil discount of VND1,400/liter; RON 95-III gasoline: VND1,350/liter; E5 gasoline: VND1,250/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on September 1 as follows: Oil discount: 1,350 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on September 1: RON 95 - III discount: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter; oil: 1,350 VND/liter at Mipec warehouse
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices will likely continue to decrease, by about 100-200 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 17 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 18 times.
