Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of March 29, 2025

Recently, for many consecutive days, domestic pepper prices have remained stable and at a very high level, while world pepper prices have shown signs of a slight recovery. The current price not only encourages farmers to increase their cultivation efforts but also creates motivation to increase productivity per hectare.

According to experts' forecasts, pepper prices are likely to continue to increase in the coming time due to demand from major markets and a shortage of supply. With demand remaining stable and exceeding supply, pepper prices are likely to increase rather than decrease.

Domestic pepper prices are forecast to continue their upward trend as demand from major markets such as the US and EU remains high. Meanwhile, although output in key growing areas such as the Central Highlands is relatively stable, farmers are limiting sales to wait for better prices, causing a shortage of supply in the market, contributing to keeping prices high.

In the international market, supply from key producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia is facing difficulties due to weather impacts, increasing pressure on global pepper prices. Domestic exporters are also actively purchasing to ensure supplies for foreign partners. If China increases imports again in the coming time, pepper prices may continue to rise.

In addition, the Vietnamese pepper industry is undergoing positive changes. Farmers are increasingly focusing on organic production, improving product quality and strengthening linkages in the value chain. However, pepper cultivation still faces many risks, especially the impact of adverse weather. In 2024, severe drought significantly affected productivity, reducing harvest output.
