National Assembly Chairman: Oil and gas industry continues to promote the cultural tradition of 'fire seekers'

Over the past 50 years, Petrovietnam 's development has always received the attention, monitoring and close direction of the Party and State leaders. In recent years, Petrovietnam has had breakthrough solutions in management and operation of production and business activities, continuously setting new records in the history of the Group's formation and development.

By the end of 2024, the Group's total revenue will exceed VND 1 million billion, up 36% compared to the period before the COVID-19 pandemic (2019); State budget contribution will reach VND 165 trillion, equivalent to nearly 9% of the country's total budget revenue.

Petrovietnam's total revenue in the 2020-2024 period reached over VND3.5 million billion, achieving a growth rate of 16.7%/year. Total payment to the State budget in this period reached over VND599 trillion, a growth rate of 21.2%/year.

Expressing his joy at meeting the outstanding workers and leaders of the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent the delegates his best wishes for health and the warmest welcome.

The National Assembly Chairman said that in 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges from the impacts of the world and regional political and economic situation, under the leadership of the Party and the solidarity and consensus of the entire political system, the country has achieved important results in socio-economic development.

The economic scale reached 476.3 billion USD. State budget revenue reached more than 2 million billion VND; GDP growth reached 7.09%, per capita income reached nearly 4,700 USD, among the countries with high growth rates in the region and the world. Import-export turnover reached nearly 787 billion USD... "In that general achievement, there is a very important contribution of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group", the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the National Assembly Chairman warmly commended and acknowledged the achievements of the oil and gas industry in general and the outstanding examples that have been achieved, especially respecting those who are working day and night on the front lines of the national energy industry.

Emphasizing that the Party and State always pay attention to leading, directing, creating favorable conditions, determining the position, importance, and higher requirements for State-owned corporations and groups, including the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that the oil and gas industry will continue to promote the cultural tradition of the fire-seeker; always carry within itself the aspiration to contribute and the competitive spirit of "Good workers - creative workers", sustainable and breakthrough development.

The National Assembly Chairman requested the Group to thoroughly study and effectively implement Conclusion 76-KL/TW of the Politburo on the strategic orientation for the development of Vietnam's oil and gas industry to 2025 and vision to 2035; ensure the implementation of the "5 words An": national energy security, economic security, food security, contributing to protecting national security and sovereignty at sea and implementing social security.

The Group continues to reform, innovate, and apply advanced management methods to improve governance efficiency, manage resources, and enhance competitiveness; continue to restructure and organize businesses, streamline the apparatus, and ensure effective and efficient operations.

Along with that, focusing on innovation in the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. The Party Committee and leaders of the Group determined that it was necessary to synchronize institutional reforms; perfect and implement solutions to ensure feasibility and increase labor productivity.

At the same time, the Group improves capital use efficiency and investment management efficiency; practices savings, optimizes resources, proactively responds to market developments; maximizes investment costs for projects and works, reviews investment activities in the direction of focused, key, correct, accurate, and effective investment.

The National Assembly Chairman noted that the Group's leaders continue to create a better environment for workers and production, and care about the material and spiritual lives of workers. The Trade Union continues to promote the spirit of enthusiasm for workers, accompanying businesses for common goals, and always being a reliable and solid support for more than 60,000 oil and gas workers.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that with solidarity, unity, determination, resoluteness, and determination, the Group will continue to contribute more to the country's development.
