
The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Project, Gia Loc district section, is about 10.5 km long, passing through 3 communes: Yet Kieu, Gia Phuc, Hoang Dieu and Gia Loc town.
According to the feasibility study report, the project uses nearly 44.3 hectares of land, including more than 1.8 hectares of residential land; over 34.2 hectares of rice land; more than 3.2 hectares of aquaculture land, and the rest is other types of land. The cost of compensation and resettlement support when the State reclaims land is nearly 561 billion VND.
Through the survey, there are 171 families and individuals whose land has been recovered and need resettlement. Gia Loc District People's Committee plans to resettle households in Van Do, Hoang Kim, Luong Xa villages (Yet Kieu commune); Cham (Gia Loc town); Long Trang (Hoang Dieu commune).
Yet Kieu Kindergarten and Gia Loc II High School are expected to be moved to a new location to make room for the project.
Specifically, Yet Kieu Commune Kindergarten, with an existing area of about 3,500 m2, is expected to be moved to a new location in the commune, with a planned area of about 5,000 m2 . Gia Loc II High School, with an existing area of about 1.3 hectares, is expected to be moved to a location adjacent to Highway 37 bypass, with a planned area of about 5 hectares, in Gia Loc town and Gia Phuc commune.
