On March 23, Thanh Nien news source confirmed that the Thu Duc City Police Department (HCMC) is temporarily detaining suspect Tao Van Duc (35 years old, from Thanh Hoa) to investigate and clarify the act of property theft.
The house that was broken into is located in Thien Ly residential area.
Previously, on March 19, after returning from work, the owner of a house in Thien Ly residential area (Phuoc Long B Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) discovered signs of a break-in. Checking the furniture in the house, the homeowner was shocked to see that the safe had been broken into and many assets including gold, cash..., with a total value of about 500 million VND, had been stolen.
The incident was quickly reported by the homeowner to the Phuoc Long B Ward Police. Immediately, the Phuoc Long B Ward Police coordinated with professional units of the Thu Duc City Police to investigate, pursue and arrest suspect Tao Van Duc (35 years old, from Thanh Hoa).
At the police station, Duc confessed that in the early morning of March 19, taking advantage of the homeowner's absence, Duc broke into the house, stole the aforementioned property, and then escaped.
The case of breaking into a house and breaking into a safe to steal property is being further investigated by the police.
