Currently, the city has 3 standard shopping malls, 8 supermarkets, 32 Winmart + stores, 22 large-scale stores, over 27,000 production and service establishments. The quality of service industries has been improved, the market of goods is diverse, the variety is rich, the prices are stable. In addition, people's shopping habits have gradually changed, technical parameters, expiry dates, warranty policies and transparency of the origin of goods are of more concern to consumers.
Along with modern commercial infrastructure, Viet Tri has 18 markets, of which 2 are managed by enterprises, 16 are managed by the People's Committees of wards and communes. Currently, the markets: Bach Hac, Duu Lau, Tan Dan are being surveyed, researched and invested in construction by investors. Thanks to the increased mobilization and attraction of capital sources for market development investment, over the years, the appearance of the markets has changed more and more, many markets have been renovated, upgraded in terms of infrastructure, tools, equipment for preserving, preliminary processing, and processing products. The drainage, electricity, fire prevention and fighting systems are equipped and repaired by enterprises and traders in the market in accordance with regulations, while focusing on arranging industries and groups of products scientifically, creating highlights, attracting traders and people to exchange goods.
Comrade Nguyen Anh Dung - Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Viet Tri City said: The synchronous investment in infrastructure has created conditions for the development of the trade and service sector, ensuring professionalism in management and operation methods and, more specifically, civility in service style. On that basis, trade and service activities in the city are increasingly developing, with a fairly high growth rate, focusing on the retail sector of goods and accommodation, food and beverage, tourism and transportation services. In 2024, the total retail sales of goods and revenue from consumer services in the whole society of the city is estimated to reach over 26,600 billion VND, equal to 114% over the same period.
The above results are thanks to the widespread distribution network of goods, the increased quality of services along with the development of e-commerce, which has contributed to promoting the production and consumption of goods in and outside the city. At the same time, the effectiveness of the Government's consumer stimulus policy, the recovery and development of tourism, services along with promotional activities, trade promotion organized in the area, especially during holidays and Tet.
Market management, inspection, and price control at shopping centers, supermarkets, and markets in the city are being strictly implemented. In 2024, the city coordinated with functional forces to conduct interdisciplinary inspections on food safety and hygiene, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, trade fraud, etc. with 214 production and business establishments, of which 187 establishments were detected and handled for violations. The amount of fines paid to the state budget was over 880 million VND, and more than 175 million VND of goods were forced to be destroyed.
With the goal of achieving total retail sales of goods and service revenue of over VND 28,000 billion by 2025, an average increase of 10% per year in the period of 2021-2025, the city continues to develop service industries, especially tourism services in an increasingly professional and modern direction associated with the orientation of building a festival city; continue to maintain and create favorable conditions for businesses to improve service quality on culinary streets. Increase investment attraction to develop synchronous service and tourism infrastructure; invite qualified investors to survey and build a number of markets in the area; create favorable conditions for investors to complete projects to put them into operation as soon as possible.
At the same time, do a good job of market management, focus on checking and controlling counterfeit and poor quality goods, develop the market in a stable and sustainable direction associated with consumer needs; propagate and mobilize effective implementation of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"...
