On December 10, 2019, a woman was cleaning the garden of the Ricci Oddi modern art gallery in the city of Piacenza, northern Italy, when she noticed something blocking a hole in the wall. After removing it, the woman discovered it was a painting. She immediately brought it in to report to the gallery's curator.
Gallery director Massimo Ferrari and art expert Anna Sell carefully examined the painting. According to the details on the frame, the stamp and the seal on the back, this is an original drawing. This painting is the work "Portrait of a Lady" by the famous Austrian painter - Gustav Klimt.

According to old documents, in 1916-1917, the artist Gustav Klimt painted the painting and named it Portrait of a Lady. The content of the painting is a woman with brown hair painted on an emerald green background. However, the painting was stolen on February 22, 1997 before it could be introduced to the public. Since then, no one has seen this work again.
When police arrived at the scene, they found only the frame of the painting on the roof of the gallery. They concluded that someone had used a fishing line to move the painting through the skylight. However, one investigator expressed doubts that the painting had not been removed from the gallery, saying that the skylight was not large enough for the stolen painting.
In 2015, an anonymous person claimed to have stolen the painting and would return it on the 20th anniversary of its theft. However, on February 22, 2017, the painting was nowhere to be seen until it was accidentally found.
According to gallery managers, the painting is worth between $67 and $111 million (equivalent to VND1,500 billion to more than VND2,500 billion).
