Welcoming 12 martyrs who died in Laos back to their homeland

On May 21, at Lao Bao International Border Gate, Quang Tri Province and Savannakhet Province (Laos) solemnly held a handover ceremony and received the remains of 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.

These are martyrs' remains collected by the Martyrs' Remains Search and Collection Team (Team 584), Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, during the 2023-2024 dry season, in Savannakhet province (Laos).

In a solemn atmosphere, the ceremony of handing over and receiving the remains of martyrs was organized thoughtfully and solemnly. Delegates and people of the two provinces of Quang Tri and Savannakhet respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express their deep gratitude and appreciation to the martyrs who heroically sacrificed for their noble international duty.

As planned, on the morning of May 22, Quang Tri province will hold a memorial service and bury the remains of 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9.
