The Vietnamese women's football team is gathering in Hanoi to prepare for their trip to the 19th Asian Games. Faced with the possibility that striker Huynh Nhu will not be able to join the team, coach Mai Duc Chung shared: "It would be a pity if Huynh Nhu is not present at the 19th Asian Games, but we will also arrange suitable positions in the squad. For now, the captain position will be given to striker Pham Hai Yen and two vice-captains Kim Thanh and Chuong Thi Kieu."

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's football team will train in Hai Phong. In addition to improving physical strength and technical tactics, the team will have a number of practice matches to review its strength, including a match against the veteran Hai Phong team. "This is an opportunity for us to thank Hai Phong football fans for always supporting us over the past years. After 20 years since the 2003 SEA Games, the tournament in which the Vietnamese women's football team won the championship in Hai Phong, we have the opportunity to return here," said coach Mai Duc Chung.

Evaluating the past week of training of the Vietnamese women's football team, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "The young players have made a lot of progress and tried hard, following the example of the older players after the 2023 Women's World Cup. This is very good, the coaching staff always encourages the young players to strive harder in training."

When asked about the goal of the Vietnamese women's football team at the 19th ASIAD, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed: "Opportunities at the Asian Games are open to all young players. The upcoming squad will be a mix of both older and younger players. If the coaching staff's intentions are carried out, the players will have a starting position. The whole team aims to win each match and go deep at the 19th ASIAD."

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's football team will focus on training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) until August 19. After that, the team will have a training trip in Hai Phong before returning to Hanoi to prepare to move to China to attend the 19th ASIAD.
