Attending the conference were Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army: Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia; and Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son.

The report at the conference affirmed that in March, the General Staff directed the entire army to successfully carry out the tasks; strictly maintain combat readiness, grasp the situation, promptly advise on effective handling of situations, avoid being passive and surprised, firmly protect sovereignty and territory, coordinate to maintain security and order nationwide and important events of the country. Carry out well the work of patrolling, controlling, preventing illegal entry and exit on the border, sea and islands; strengthen propaganda, repel, prevent foreign ships from violating and encroaching on Vietnam's waters; synchronously deploy measures to prevent and combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

In addition, it is necessary to strictly implement measures to ensure safety in flight operations; strictly manage unmanned aircraft and flying vehicles, handle them promptly, effectively, and in accordance with regulations; ensure adequate and timely topographical data and geographic information for all military units; strengthen control of information in cyberspace, and ensure timely communication for command and direction of the entire military.

Along with organizing training according to plan, ensuring safety; adjusting force organization, ensuring timely provision of combat readiness weapons and equipment, training; units actively complete the Project to continue to arrange the local military organization to be "elite, compact, strong", meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

Forces participating in the parade and marching in the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day trained and practiced to ensure quality, safety and discipline. In particular, they promptly mobilized forces and vehicles, effectively handled search and rescue situations, and forest fire fighting; and deployed a working group of the Ministry of National Defense to Myanmar to provide humanitarian assistance and earthquake disaster relief.

Concluding the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the outstanding results in performing tasks of agencies and units throughout the army in recent times.

Regarding the tasks for April and the following period, General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the entire army to continue to strictly maintain the combat readiness regime, monitor and grasp the situation, especially in key areas; strengthen patrols and control, prevent illegal entry and exit on the border, sea and islands; focus on propaganda patrols, chasing away and preventing foreign ships from violating and encroaching on Vietnam's waters; ensure full and timely topographical data and geographical information for all army units. At the same time, strengthen control of information on cyberspace, ensure timely communication, key command and direction of the entire army.

Regarding the task of organizing forces, General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted the need to focus on completing the Project to continue arranging local military agencies; develop the Ministry of National Defense's Plan for the 2026 - 2030 period to implement Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW dated January 17, 2022 of the Politburo on the organization of the Vietnam People's Army for the 2021 - 2030 period and the following years; submit to the Central Military Commission Standing Committee on policies for the forces participating in the Project on parades and marches and the plan to purchase weapons and technical equipment of the Ministry of National Defense's Equipment Council.

Along with organizing training, competitions, and sports events for subjects to ensure strict compliance with regulations, units must complete regulations on safety assurance, regulations on the number of fake sites, the amount of explosives used in each fake site applied to each tactical exercise topic; strictly maintain the rescue and relief on-call regime at all levels, proactively grasp the situation, advise and propose timely and effective handling of situations, especially the risk of forest fires in the locality. Organize civil defense training on dike incidents and ensure communication in incidents, natural disasters, and search and rescue according to plan; do a good job of preparing for the 2025 Army Rescue, Relief, Fire Prevention and Fighting Sports Festival.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested units to grasp the electronic warfare situation in the regions; closely monitor the important national information system and military and defense information; strengthen information security and network security; firmly maintain the cryptographic technical system, transfer and receive command and direction contents to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness in all situations. Focus on inspection, registration, quality assessment, acceptance of weapons and technical equipment of agencies and units in the entire army in accordance with the regulations of the State and the Ministry of National Defense...
