In 2023, Da Nang Club had to play in the national first division, after about 20 years of fighting on the map of professional football in Vietnam. And after only 1 season (2023 - 2024), the Han River team immediately returned to the V-League arena, bringing with it many expectations. But up to now, the Hoa Xuan Stadium team has not been able to regain its former glory. When the 2024 - 2025 V-League has not yet passed the mid-season milestone, Da Nang Club has fallen into a difficult situation in the relegation race. After 11 rounds, Da Nang Club is the only team that has not tasted victory, receiving 7 defeats, 4 draws, having only 4 points and is sinking deep at the bottom of the rankings.
V-League 2024 - 2025 has entered an important stage, but it is not too late for Da Nang Club. The leadership of the Han River team is urgently reforming the force, from the coaching staff to the players, with the hope of a strong change in the near future. Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, Da Nang Club welcomed coach Le Duc Tuan (former captain of Hanoi Club) to replace former coach of the U.17 Vietnam team Cristiano Roland (who has only played 3 matches). In addition, the Hoa Xuan Stadium team also replaced many foreign players, in order to increase the strength of the attack as well as reinforce the solidity of the defense system. Da Nang Club has said goodbye to old foreign players, and at the same time recruited players from Brazil such as center-back Cassio Fernando, midfielder Emerson Souza and most recently Thiago Henrique. The Han River football team also added domestic players, notably the appearance of former U.23 Vietnam "hero" - goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung.
Da Nang Club (right) is determined to overcome difficult times.
Recently, Da Nang FC has not had good results due to the poor attack line not putting enough pressure on the opponent, on the contrary, it has created a lot of pressure on the defense line. As a result, Da Nang FC has become the team with the fewest goals (5 goals), but has conceded the most goals in the V-League (20 times conceded) up to now. Therefore, the reinforcement of foreign players in all lines shows that Da Nang FC is very determined to overcome the difficult situation at the present time.
The opening match of Da Nang FC is an away match at Quy Nhon Stadium of Binh Dinh FC, at 6:00 p.m. on February 8. The team from the land of martial arts is currently in the bottom half of the rankings (ranked 10th, 12 points), so this is considered an opportunity for Da Nang FC to show its determination, as well as prove its effectiveness after a series of changes. The victory at Quy Nhon Stadium will have a very special meaning for Da Nang FC, and at the same time create a good premise for the team from the Han River to conquer the thorny road ahead. However, defeating Binh Dinh FC at Quy Nhon Stadium is not simple. In the last 4 home matches in the V-League, Binh Dinh FC is undefeated, including a draw with defending champion Nam Dinh and a win against Hai Phong FC. In addition, the team from the land of martial arts is in a dangerous position, so it is very eager to get 3 points when facing a team in crisis like Da Nang FC, to improve its position.
