Former Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee becomes university lecturer

Recently, on April 13, the Principal of the School of Management and Business HSB, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, signed a decision to accept Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, former Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council. According to this decision, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky will be a lecturer at the Faculty of Management.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province, is now a lecturer at HSB School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky graduated from Chi Linh College, Hai Duong. During his later career, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky completed his undergraduate program in environmental science at the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; studied for a master's degree in non-traditional security management, and a doctorate in management and sustainable development, both at the HSB School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

According to a leader of HSB School of Management and Business, during his time studying for his doctorate, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky taught at the school.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky held the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee in the XIV and XV terms; and concurrently held the position of Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council in the XIII and XIV terms. By November 2024, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky had been dismissed from his positions due to disciplinary violations related to Thuan An Group.

The Central Inspection Commission determined that Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing serious consequences, risking loss and waste of large amounts of State money and assets, causing bad public opinion, and reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government.

The Politburo has decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky and the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
