Female entrepreneurs accompany the development of the province

With courage, innovative thinking and creativity, female entrepreneurs in Quang Ninh have confidently overcome many challenges, developed production and business, and contributed to ensuring social security in the province.

Businesswoman Nguyen Thuy Huong, Director of Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company, with her passion and belief in Ha Long pearl products, has "braved the wind and made waves", not only affirming the Ha Long pearl brand, but also contributing to promoting the land and people of Quang Ninh to international friends.

Ms. Huong shared: Pearl jewelry is currently one of the province's unique tourism products. In 2024, Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company welcomed millions of visitors from all over the world, bringing pearls from the heritage of Ha Long Bay to all 5 continents. Since 2007, with great support from the local government in terms of development orientation and policies, the enterprise has made continuous efforts and achieved certain results in production and business activities.

Ms. Huong is also proud that her “brainchild” is the only enterprise in Vietnam that is closed and proactive in applying high technology to pearl farming processes, from breeding, farming, implanting, processing and trading products. The company is also an enterprise with a business line that resonates from many fields such as: Agriculture, aquaculture, science and technology and tourism.

Currently, the company's pearl products have received high support and trust from domestic and international tourists, with the Ha Long Pearl brand - Ha Long Pearl, including 3 national-level OCOP products (5-star) in 2024, namely Akoya Pearl, Tahiti Pearl and Southsea Pearl.

Not only is she a good businesswoman, Ms. Huong is also known as a compassionate businesswoman. Recently, Ms. Huong and her company adopted Vu Ngoc Tien (born in 2015) in Zone 3, Ha Khau Ward, Ha Long City, who is in a very difficult situation. Tien is seriously ill, his father is a freelancer, his mother is a sanitation worker, but because Tien is often sick, his mother has to quit her job to take care of him.

Sharing the difficult situation of the family, Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company has sponsored Tien with a support level of 1 million VND/month. The support period is from March 2025 until Tien turns 18 years old.

According to statistics, Quang Ninh currently has more than 4,500 female entrepreneurs and thousands of individual business households owned by women. In 2009, with the support of the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Club was officially established and has been operating quite effectively. In response to the requirements and development trends in the new period, on July 28, 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2106/QD-UBND on allowing the establishment of the Quang Ninh Women Entrepreneurs Association.

The Provincial Association of Women Entrepreneurs presented gifts to women in difficult circumstances in Ha Lau commune (Tien Yen district) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

After nearly 2 years of operation, the Quang Ninh Women Entrepreneurs Association has gradually connected female entrepreneurs in the area, creating a useful and meaningful playground, attracting the responsible participation of female entrepreneurs in the province, contributing to the implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals.

Accordingly, businesses have created regular jobs for tens of thousands of workers, the majority of whom are female, with an income of 5-6 million VND/person/month.

In the spirit of sharing with those in difficult circumstances, the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association has organized many volunteer activities, contributing to the community. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Association organized the program "Spring Connection - Tet Love" to give gifts to women members in difficult circumstances in the mountainous commune of Ha Lau (Tien Yen district). At the program, the Association presented 30 Tet gifts including cash and gift bags to 30 women members with a total cost of 30 million VND.

In addition, the Association organized the inauguration and handover of the “Entrepreneurial Shelter” to the family of Ms. Vi Thi Tiep, a household that has just escaped poverty in Thong Nhat village, Ha Lau commune. The completed house has a total area of ^​​63m2 , construction cost 240 million VND, of which the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association supported 50 million VND.

The support of the Quang Ninh Women Entrepreneurs Association has contributed to promoting gender equality and enhancing economic empowerment for women in the province, thereby affirming the role and position of women in general and female entrepreneurs in particular.
