On the morning of November 8, a delegation from the Embassy of Finland led by Mr. Touko Piiparinen, Deputy Ambassador of Finland to Vietnam, had a working session with representatives of several departments and branches of Dak Lak province on waste-to-energy technology.

At the meeting, leaders of several provincial departments and branches expressed their joy and respect at welcoming Deputy Ambassador Touko Piiparinen and members of the delegation to visit and work in Dak Lak.

Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Van Son gave an overview of the province's natural conditions, socio-economic development situation and investment potential and opportunities in various fields. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the Deputy Ambassador would act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Finnish enterprises and Dak Lak enterprises.

In the past, Dak Lak has not had any investment cooperation activities with Finland. Therefore, based on its strengths and potential, the province wishes to export key products such as coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, etc. to Finland.

At the same time, Dak Lak province has increased investment attraction, focusing on areas such as: developing high-tech agriculture, enhancing the application of scientific and technological advances in production, processing, post-harvest preservation and consumption of agricultural and forestry products; agricultural, forestry and fishery product processing industry, renewable energy, developing supporting industries, industries serving rural agriculture; building trade centers and supermarkets; investing in building high-quality hospitals and schools...

Regarding the management and treatment of solid waste in Dak Lak province, the province currently has 49 facilities for treating domestic solid waste, with a total area of ​​over 107 hectares. The province has 17 units operating in the field of collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste in the form of socialization; 100% of urban areas and district centers organize urban sanitation services; the volume of domestic solid waste collected and received at treatment sites is about 700 tons/day. Currently, the province has not applied advanced technologies for treating domestic solid waste, such as: recycling, reuse, energy recovery or organic fertilizer production...

Deputy Ambassador Touko Piiparinen thanked Dak Lak province for welcoming the delegation. At the same time, he introduced an overview of Finnish enterprises' waste-to-energy technology to the provincial departments and branches with the hope that the locality would create favorable conditions for enterprises to learn about and invest in Dak Lak.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged technology, design principles, investment costs, environmental issues, etc. related to waste-to-energy incineration technology so that departments and branches could report and advise the Provincial People's Committee on how to handle, care for, and create favorable conditions for Finnish enterprises to invest in the coming time.
