The 2-0 (6-2, 6-3) victory over Dimitrov helped Nole make history as the oldest player to participate in a Masters 1000 final.
This semi-final also set a special milestone with the highest combined age in Masters 1000 history (70 years). At 37 years and 10 months, Djokovic also surpassed Roger Federer and became the oldest player to reach the final of a Masters 1000 event since the system was established in 1990.

In the 70-minute match, Novak Djokovic completely dominated Dimitrov, raising the head-to-head record between the two players to 13-1. Djokovic showed impressive form with a first-serve success rate of up to 87%, hitting 5 aces and not allowing Dimitrov to break his serve. With this victory, he confidently aims for the 100th ATP title of his career.
After the match, Djokovic shared: "Today the weather was quite unpleasant, the wind kept changing direction, making it difficult to control the ball. But I still kept my composure and served very well. I thought it would be difficult to surpass the 84% rate in the previous match, but today I reached 87%, I really don't know what else to say. Hopefully I can continue to maintain this form, because it definitely helps me play much more comfortably."
Djokovic is now tied with Roger Federer for the most consecutive seasons in an ATP final (20). If he wins this title, he will officially surpass Andre Agassi to become the player with the most Miami Open titles in history.
In the final scheduled for Sunday afternoon (March 30), Djokovic will face Jakub Mensik, the winner of the match with Taylor Fritz (ranked 4th, USA).
