Binh Khanh Bridge (part of package J1) of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project crosses the Soai Rap River connecting Nha Be and Can Gio districts of Ho Chi Minh City. This project is considered the largest bridge on this expressway with a total investment of more than 2,800 billion VND.
Binh Khanh Bridge started construction in August 2015 and was expected to be completed in 47 months. However, in December 2018, the project had to be temporarily suspended due to funding problems, although at that time it had reached 70% progress.

After a 5-year suspension, at the end of October 2023, the contractor resumed pouring concrete and is expected to complete the project in September 2025.
On September 17, VTC News reporters noted that at the construction site in Nha Be district, workers were performing main tasks such as cantilever casting, cable-stayed construction, and concrete pouring.

A representative of the Southern Expressway Management Board (Vietnam Expressway Corporation) said that after more than 1 year of restarting, the output of Binh Khanh Bridge has reached over 82%. "Currently, workers are casting cantilevers and making cables. With this progress, it is expected that Binh Khanh Bridge will be completed by the end of the third quarter, early fourth quarter of 2025," the representative of the Management Board informed.
Binh Khanh Bridge is designed with a length of 375m between the two main spans of the bridge in the middle of the river, placed on two piers 155m high with a tower foundation of steel pipe piles. Together with the height of the two cable-stayed spans, Binh Khanh Bridge has a navigation clearance of up to 55m - the highest in Vietnam at the present time.
In particular, the height of the space between the bridge's undercarriage and the water surface is designed to accommodate large tonnage ships that regularly travel on the Soai Rap River.

At the construction site, the road leading to Binh Khanh bridge from Nha Be side to Long An side is basically completed, while the section connecting to Can Gio side is being completed.

When Binh Khanh bridge is completed, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will be open from Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway to the end of Ho Chi Minh City.
Binh Khanh Bridge is an important package of Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway. The starting point of the route in Ben Luc district (Long An province) connects to Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, the end point connects to National Highway 51 in Long Thanh district (Dong Nai).
The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project passes through Ho Chi Minh City (26.4 km), Long An (2.7 km), and Dong Nai (28.7 km). The project is invested by Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) with a total length of 58 km.
