Comrade Dang Thanh Huy - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: Every year, the propaganda and education of environmental protection awareness for young people is focused on in many forms, through many activities of the Youth Union and youth movements.
Implementing the Youth Union and Youth Movement Program, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee pays special attention to, focuses on and resolutely implements the contents and solutions in education for youth on four main pillars. In particular, the content of legal education on environmental protection for youth is one of the contents that the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee pays special attention to, and propagates in many diverse and rich forms. Propaganda solutions, traditional as well as combined with modern methods, at the same time strongly apply information technology in propaganda.
In addition, raising awareness and consciousness of young people towards environmental protection is also associated with educational activities in schools, from regular and extracurricular lessons to activities in each emulation movement of students, all of which often have activities to contribute to environmental protection. Each youth union member from urban to rural areas is also a propagandist to spread necessary knowledge and good deeds to the community in environmental protection.
Promoting the spirit of youth volunteerism, this year's Youth Month, all levels of the Youth Union in the province simultaneously organized peak activity days "Volunteerism to join hands to build new rural areas", "Green Sunday", "Volunteer Saturday" with the participation of over 10,400 young union members in units and localities.
The activities have focused on specific and practical projects and tasks such as "Lighting up the countryside roads", "Rural concrete roads", "Toilets for children", "Bridge of happiness", "Beautiful schools"; organizing green planting activities along the roads; collecting waste, cleaning the environment, clearing sewers... The whole province has implemented 198 youth projects and tasks, including 13 provincial-level youth projects and 30 models of plastic waste prevention.
Through implementation, there has been a change in the awareness and actions of young people. From there, young people will raise their own awareness and propagate to the people, other classes in society, there are many activities of the Youth Union, of young people to protect the environment and respond to climate change.
With many good models and practices in environmental protection such as: Building models to prevent plastic waste, actively planting trees to protect the environment and many ideas through competitions have appeared among young people to protect the environment. The dissemination and education of environmental protection laws for the people in general, and young people in particular, still needs to be maintained by the Youth Union and local organizations, as well as the authorities, in order to limit environmental violations in the whole province. - Comrade Dang Thanh Huy, added.
