Dien Bien to host National Tourism Year 2024

Accordingly, National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 is a typical cultural - economic - social event, of national and international scale, associated with the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). Vietnamese name: "National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024". English: "Visit Viet Nam Year - Dien Bien 2024".

National Tourism Year - Dien Bien takes place throughout 2024 with many outstanding activities such as the Opening Ceremony of National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 and the Dien Bien Province Ban Flower Festival 2024; Program to survey and develop tourism products to serve the National Tourism Year 2024; especially a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024): Celebration, Special Art Program and High-altitude Fireworks Display; National Mobile Propaganda Festival and Large-Panel Propaganda Exhibition, National Book Promotion Festival, Film Week commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, Cycling Race "About Dien Bien Phu - People's Army Newspaper Cup"; Northwest Cuisine Festival 2024, Northwest Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival, etc.

Through the organization of the National Tourism Year, it contributes to raising awareness of all levels, sectors and people about the position, role and importance of tourism activities in the cause of socio-economic development. The event also aims to introduce and promote tangible and intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products of the people and country of Vietnam in general and Dien Bien in particular.

National Tourism Year - Dien Bien contributes to promoting the mobilization of investment resources for development, strengthening economic and social infrastructure; exploiting local potentials and advantages, developing the economy, ensuring social security; reducing poverty rapidly and sustainably, improving the material and spiritual life of the people; preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups and the special national historical site of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield; contributing to stimulating domestic and international tourism, restoring tourism activities in the new normal conditions, creating a step to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector and building Dien Bien into one of the tourist centers of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.

The main activities will be organized centrally in Dien Bien. The programs and events in response will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other ministries, departments, branches and localities in Dien Bien or in related localities.

Dien Bien province is actively preparing for the ceremony to receive the flag to host the National Tourism Year in Binh Thuan, and at the same time organizing many activities to promote tourism culture associated with the propaganda of the National Tourism Year in many provinces and cities across the country.
