Provincial People's Committee handles slow-progressing projects

The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to hear reports on the situation and solutions to existing and troubled projects in the province.

Comrade Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Comrade Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired; attending were Comrade Duong Tat Thang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the report of the Department of Finance, there are currently 175 projects in the province that are still in existence and need to be focused on resolving. Of these, 125 projects have been decided on investment policy or granted investment registration certificates by the provincial level; 50 projects have been decided on investment policy by the district-level People's Committee.

The reason for the delay in project implementation is that investors have not focused on completing the procedures; the project implementation process has encountered difficulties in compensation for site clearance and capital mobilization. Some projects are slow to implement after being allocated land. In addition, in some projects, investors arbitrarily build without land lease or build some construction items that are not in accordance with the planning...

Delegates from Ha Tinh city spoke, pointed out difficulties in project implementation and proposed solutions.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches and localities reported to the Provincial People's Committee on outstanding projects and problems due to local and unit decisions on investment policies; stated the existing problems, difficulties, obstacles, causes and solutions.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The occurrence of problems, obstacles, and delays in project implementation will cause considerable waste and loss in public investment. Therefore, departments, branches, and localities with projects that are stuck or delayed need to inspect, review, and determine which projects, which period; the causes of problems and delays; assign specific responsibilities to relevant organizations and individuals; and at the same time focus on resolving and handling them thoroughly .

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai emphasized the requirement to review and thoroughly handle difficulties and assign specific responsibilities to each unit.

In case of problems beyond the authority, proactively consult with specialized departments for guidance on handling. For problems requiring procedures to adjust investment policies, guide investors to complete the procedures and send them to the Department of Finance for consideration and handling according to regulations .
