Details of admission scores to Hanoi Law University in 2023 based on high school academic results and foreign language certificate results:
This year, Hanoi Law University enrolls 2,500 students, of which the Law faculty enrolls 1,550 students (the main campus in Hanoi accepts 1,190 students, the Dak Lak branch accepts 200 students), ethnic preparatory schools 60 students and the joint program with the University of Arizona (USA) 100 students. The Economic Law faculty enrolls 550 students, each major of International Trade Law and English Language enrolls 200 students.
Two admission methods are kept stable, including direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (accounting for 2% of total enrollment quota); admission according to the school's own project (98%).
With its own admission method, Hanoi Law University is divided into four groups:
First, the school reserves 10 quotas to select candidates for the monthly, quarterly or yearly rounds of the Road to Olympia program. The expected selection period is from April to the end of July. If not enough candidates are recruited, the quota for this method will be transferred to the remaining methods.
Second, the school considers the academic records of all five semesters (except for the second semester of grade 12). Candidates must have excellent academic performance throughout the entire semester. For the first semester of grade 12, each subject in the admission combination must achieve 7.5 (applicable to the head office in Hanoi) or 7 or higher (Dak Lak Branch).
Candidates will be awarded 0.5-1.5 points of encouragement if they are excellent students and are students of specialized high schools. In addition, if they have IELTS 5.5 or equivalent or higher, they will also have their points converted to replace the foreign language score in their transcript. This method is expected to be considered for admission from April.
Third, the school will consider admission based on the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam. The threshold to ensure input quality at the Hanoi headquarters for the C00 group (Literature, History, Geography) is 20, the remaining groups are 18, excluding priority points. For the majors of International Commercial Law and English Language, the high school graduation exam score in English must not be less than 7. At the Dak Lak branch, the floor score is 15, applied to all groups.
The incentive points for this method are applied similarly (both in terms of criteria and bonus points) to those for considering academic records.
Fourth, for candidates applying for the joint program with the University of Arizona (USA), Hanoi Law University considers international English certificates, minimum 5.5 IELTS or equivalent. The expected admission time is April-October.
