Admission scores for police schools in 2023 have decreased.

Police schools have admission scores ranging from 14.01 to 24.94, down from last year, according to an announcement by the Department of Training, Ministry of Public Security, on the morning of August 24.

The Party Building and State Administration major of the People's Public Security Academy has the highest admission score. Female candidates in the North must achieve 24.94 points to apply for this major. However, this is 1.32 points lower than last year.

The Police Profession of the People's Police Academy has the second highest entrance score with 24.78 points, applied to female candidates in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue.

Meanwhile, the English Language Department of the International Academy takes 14.01, applied to male candidates. This is the lowest level.

The above scores are calculated according to the Ministry of Public Security's own admission formula. Specifically: Admission score = Total score of three graduation exam subjects * 2/5 + Assessment test score * 3/5 + Priority points according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training + Bonus points for excellent students at the national level.

Last year, the lowest benchmark score for police schools was 15.1 and the highest was 26.26.

This year is the second time that the police schools have organized the People's Police entrance exam. With the above admission scores, the police schools no longer have a standard score above 27. Last year, the highest score was 26.26, applied to female candidates in the North, taking the exam for the People's Police Force Building major (People's Police Political Academy). The standard score for male candidates is lower, commonly below 20.

Eight police schools said they are recruiting about 1,900 students. In addition to considering exam scores, the schools have two other methods: direct recruitment according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and combined recruitment with international English certificates.

The admission method combining international certificates only applies to the International Academy, the People's Public Security Academy, the Security and Police Departments. Candidates with IELTS 7.5, TOEFL iBT 110 or HSK 5 or higher will be considered using this method.
