Thu Duc City leaders award emulation flags to schools
Accordingly, Thu Duc City currently has 384 schools from kindergarten to secondary school with nearly 210,000 students; the total number of managers and teachers is more than 15,700 people. This is also the locality with the largest number of schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
The summary report of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City stated that the current rate of mobilizing preschool-age children to go to school (5-year-old children) is 95%.
At primary and secondary school levels, the rate of children enrolled in grades 1 and 6 reached 100%. The rate of secondary school graduates reached 99.8%, of which 79.4% were admitted to public grade 10.
Up to now, Thu Duc City has had 87.6% of schools recognized for educational quality assessment. The classroom ratio is 310 classrooms/10,000 school-age population (from 3-18 years old).
In the 2023-2024 school year, Thu Duc City is the locality leading in the number of students winning prizes in the city-level excellent student competition with 583 students, including 42 students winning prizes at international and national levels. In addition, Thu Duc City is also the locality with the highest rate of students entering public grade 10 in the whole city.
At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, Thu Duc City People's Committee honored, rewarded, and encouraged students and teachers with outstanding achievements with a total budget of more than 500 million VND.

In addition to the achievements, Mr. Hiep also acknowledged that the education sector still faces many difficulties and challenges such as: Some wards do not have enough primary and secondary schools; degraded school facilities have not been repaired in time, affecting the distribution of students by area as well as the ability to meet the needs of students studying 2 sessions/day; the number of students/class is higher than the regulations, affecting the quality of teaching and student management; schools lack subject teachers, the ratio of teachers does not meet the requirements of teaching 2 sessions/day...
Mr. Duong Tri Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, suggested that Thu Duc City promote investment policies to develop key education.

On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 6 schools with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning" in the 2023-2024 school year. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also awarded emulation flags to 13 groups that excellently completed their tasks in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years.
