In March, the cotton trees along the country roads in Nghe An province bloom, creating poetic and heart-stirring natural paintings.
Every March, the kapok trees (also known as cotton trees) on village roads, mountain slopes, and river banks of Nghe An countryside bloom brilliantly.
Anh Son District (Nghe An) is considered one of the districts with the most kapok trees, scattered in the communes. In particular, Tam Son Commune (Anh Son District) is considered to have the most kapok flowers with dozens of trees in bloom. The kapok trees mainly grow on the banks of the Lam River.
The cotton tree flower is also known as the cotton flower. The flower has 5 petals with a bright red color. The flower starts blooming from the beginning of March and lasts until mid-April. When the flower bears seeds, the seeds and white cotton dust are carried by the wind and drift across the sky, leaving behind the seeds to grow into young plants.
When the flower season comes, the kapok trees lose all their leaves, leaving only buds and flowers, creating a rustic, simple beauty.
