On September 29, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province announced that the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee has proposed to the People's Council of Quang Binh province on regulations on tuition collection for the 2023-2024 school year.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province proposed a policy of not collecting first semester tuition fees for preschool children, public high school students, and students at continuing education institutions following the general education program in the province.
At the same time, no tuition fees will be collected for the entire 2023-2024 school year for preschool children and public high school students, and students at continuing education institutions following the general education program in ethnic minority areas, border areas, mountainous areas, especially disadvantaged communes, and coastal areas.
The state budget supports funding for public preschool and general education institutions and continuing education institutions due to reduced revenue from tuition fees.
The plan to exempt tuition fees for the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year has been submitted by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to the Provincial People's Council for consideration.
According to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, the Standing Committee of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee also agreed on the policy of exempting tuition fees for the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year (as proposed by the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee), pending approval by the Quang Binh Provincial People's Council.
Previously, in the 2022-2023 school year, Quang Binh province exempted tuition fees for preschool children and public secondary school students, and students studying at continuing education institutions under the general education program to support people facing difficulties after the Covid-19 pandemic.
