In recent times, trade promotion activities in the province in general and Hai Lang district in particular have been increasingly improved in both scale and quality, gradually affirming their position and role in supporting enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments to develop and approach investors. In 2022, the Hue tapioca cake production facility of Mr. Ho Minh Thanh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, in My Chanh village, Hai Chanh commune, Hai Lang district, was supported with 45 million VND from the district-level industrial promotion fund to invest in a number of types of machinery to improve product quality, ensure hygiene, save time and effort such as: steamers, vacuum machines, dough mixers, flour grinders, industrial steamers...
In addition, the family's banh bot loc products are also encouraged and facilitated to participate in promotion and business at trade fairs, connecting supply and demand inside and outside the province. Mr. Ho Minh Thanh, owner of Hue banh loc production facility, shared: “Previously, our family made banh bot loc mainly by hand. Since 2022, we have benefited from the district's industrial promotion capital, along with the family's savings, so we have boldly invested and expanded production and business activities.
Thanks to that, the productivity and quality of the products have increased day by day, and are favored by customers inside and outside the province, with continuous orders. In particular, the tapioca cake product produced by our family won the first prize when participating in the vote for typical rural industrial products at the district level in 2022 and is 1 of 22 products/product sets certified as provincial-level rural industrial products in 2022.
This is the motivation for us to continue to stick with, preserve and increasingly develop the traditional banh bot loc making profession of our family and locality. In 2024, Hue banh bot loc products have been known by many customers inside and outside the province and have been regularly ordered thanks to participating in programs, fairs and supply-demand connection activities within the framework of the Festival for Peace held for the first time in Quang Tri province.
Also one of the businesses that regularly participates in trade fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province, Bao Ngoc Cajeput Oil Company Limited in Dien Sanh town, Hai Lang district has brought quality products that are harvested, distilled, and refined into products that contribute to protecting and improving human health to customers near and far. Currently, the company has 2 products that have been certified as 3-star OCOP products, including Perfect mouthwash and cajeput essential oil; there are 10 products that have been certified as typical rural industrial products.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Khiet, Director of Bao Ngoc Cajeput Oil Company Limited, said that thanks to the support of provincial and district departments, agencies, and units, businesses have the opportunity to promote their products at trade fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province. From these fairs, businesses have more customers and signed more contracts, and their business is also more favorable.
In 2024, Hai Lang district has promoted, facilitated and supported enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments to participate in trade promotion activities inside and outside the province to display and introduce the district's typical and key products such as: "Trans-Asia Bridge" Fair; B2B Trade Connection Conference; Vinh Linh District Trade Fair; trade delegations in provinces and cities across the country connected by the Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Tourism...
On the other hand, the district has also guided and supported the development of brands for typical products of the district such as: Kim Long wine of Kim Long Cooperative, Hai Que commune; green-skinned grapefruit and oranges of Xuan Lam Cooperative, Hai Lam commune; nettle leaves and bitter melon of Thuan Viet Cooperative, Hai Duong commune; Long Hung banh tet of Long Hung banh tet Cooperative, Hai Phu commune; dried bananas and lotus leaf tea of SHUKA Company in Hai Phong commune. Trade promotion activities have also been promoted by related units on digital platforms and e-commerce trading floors, supporting businesses to establish distribution channels and develop stable product consumption markets.
Head of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Hai Lang district, Le Nhan Manh, informed: "Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, on the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Lang district on March 19 (1975-2025), the Economic and Infrastructure Department has advised the District People's Committee to develop a project to organize the Hai Lang district Trade Fair in 2025 from the provincial trade promotion fund.
Specifically, the fair has 190 booths, with over 100 enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities participating in displaying and promoting quality, branded and reputable products. This is also an opportunity for enterprises to get closer to consumers, thereby contributing to increasing revenue, expanding the consumer market and finding many business opportunities.
On the other hand, based on the assigned functions and tasks, the Department of Economy and Infrastructure will continue to coordinate with relevant units to promote the implementation of programs and activities of trade promotion and trade connection; support enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments in market information, brand building procedures; train in trade promotion skills, trade civilization, and business management to meet the period of international integration.
At the same time, continue to propose to the District People's Committee and related departments and branches to create conditions and support enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments that need to build e-commerce information pages; encourage and support the construction of a network of core enterprises in industrial clusters to act as a focal point for supplying raw materials and stabilizing product consumption..."
