The socio-economic situation of An Giang province in the first quarter continued to achieve many positive results, with good growth compared to the same period in 2024 in many areas, contributing to the completion of the socio-economic goals of 2025. GRDP growth in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at 7.12% and higher than the same period in the first quarter of 2024 (5.52%). This result exceeded the planned growth scenario of 8.5% (the first quarter was 7.0%). The main economic indicators maintained high growth rates compared to the same period in 2024, such as: Industrial production index of the whole province; wholesale and retail sales of goods and services; export turnover of goods; total revenue from tourism activities increased compared to the same period.

Estimated budget revenue in the first quarter reached VND2,695 billion, reaching 35.09% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, exceeding the average estimated progress. National and provincial key projects and works were directed and managed to accelerate the implementation progress. In particular, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project exceeded the general progress; materials provided for key traffic projects were focused on resolving. The work of ensuring social security and taking care of Tet for the people was carried out promptly, to the right subjects, in the right regime and with innovation. Attention was paid to medical work and health care for the people; the province focused on effectively implementing programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives.

Many cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities were organized thoughtfully, safely and practically, creating an exciting atmosphere throughout the province, notably cultural and artistic programs, honoring the traditional cultural values ​​of An Giang; mass physical education and sports activities were organized regularly, contributing to taking care of the spiritual life of the people. In particular, the province successfully organized the ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing the intangible cultural heritage of the Festival of Ba Chua Xu in Sam Mountain as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the first Communist Party cell in An Giang, creating an impression on cadres, party members and people inside and outside the province.

In addition, the province has focused on streamlining the provincial apparatus towards streamlining, effective and efficient operations, completing on schedule; reducing 11 district-level police stations and 110 subordinate teams according to Project 25, dated January 11, 2025 of the Central Public Security Party Committee.
