Bank billionaire's son ranks among the 12 richest people

The list of richest people on the stock exchange in 2024 includes two Gen Z faces, Ho Thuy Anh and Ho Anh Minh, children of billionaire Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Techcombank (TCB), holding positions 11 and 12 respectively.

Ho Thuy Anh, born in 2001, currently owns nearly 334.7 million TCB shares. Thuy Anh's assets as of the end of 2024 were worth nearly VND 8,400 billion. In 2023, Ho Thuy Anh spent nearly VND 2,100 billion to buy more shares, increasing her ownership ratio from less than 3% to nearly 4.9%.

In 2024, two sons of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong appeared prominently in the media at Vingroup's major event.

The eldest brother Pham Nhat Quan Anh (born in 1993) first appeared at the end of last year as Deputy General Director of VinFast's production division when the Vietnamese electric car company and Marubeni Corporation officially announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in reusing electric car batteries towards the goal of developing a circular economy within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo.

Early last year, Quan Anh and Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong welcomed Indonesian President Joko Widodo to visit the VinFast complex in Hai Phong.

Daughter of billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang

Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh, daughter of Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masan Group Corporation (MSN), bought nearly 8.5 million MSN shares out of a total of 10 million units registered from October 29 to November 18, 2024. After the transaction, Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh owns 0.59% of Masan Group's capital.

MSN shares fluctuated around 75,000 VND/share during the time Ms. Yen Linh made the transaction. Thus, billionaire Dang Quang's daughter spent more than 600 billion VND to buy the above shares.

Currently, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang only holds 18 MSN shares. But Mr. Quang's wife - Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen (Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh's mother), holds nearly 50.9 million MSN shares, equivalent to 3.36%.

In addition to Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh, Mr. Quang and Ms. Yen also have two other children, Nguyen Thuy Linh (owns 223 MSN shares) and Nguyen Dang Linh (owns no shares).

Bau Duc's secretive daughter

Among the relatives of Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc (Bau Duc), his daughter Doan Hoang Anh is the one who holds many shares of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAGL, code HAG). Mr. Duc once declared in 2023: "The name of the company Hoang Anh is the name of my daughter, I will never abandon it".

Ms. Hoang Anh is the first daughter of Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc. Ms. Hoang Anh was first known to investors as a shareholder of HAGL in August 2021 when she spent nearly 21 billion VND to buy 4 million HAG shares. A month later, Ms. Hoang Anh increased the number of shares she owned to 8 million units.

In 2024, Doan Hoang Anh traded HAG shares many times. Mr. Duc's daughter sold 2 million shares in February and bought back a total of 4 million shares in May and September 2024.

Recently, Doan Hoang Anh has just completed the purchase of 1 million HAG shares in the period from December 30, 2024 to January 21, 2025. After the transaction, Ms. Hoang Anh's ownership ratio at HAGL increased from 1.23% to 1.32%, equivalent to 14 million shares.

These shares are worth more than 170 billion VND on the stock market.

Son of late Chairman Nguyen Thien Tuan receives inheritance of shares

The late Chairman of DIC Corp, Nguyen Thien Tuan, passed away on August 10, 2024. On August 19, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Hung Cuong (born in 1982), Permanent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors and also the legal representative of his late father.

According to the information announced, Mr. Cuong received nearly 20.8 million shares as an inheritance. The transaction was carried out in the form of transfer without going through the trading system.

After completion, Mr. Cuong increased his ownership ratio at DIG from 62 million shares to 82.7 million shares, a ratio of 13.56%.

Mr. Cuong is currently the largest shareholder at DIC Corp. Last month, Ms. Le Thi Ha Thanh, mother of Mr. Nguyen Hung Cuong, also inherited more than 20.8 million DIG shares from her deceased husband.
