Lunar New Year is the time when businesses and units operating in the passenger transport sector mobilize maximum human resources, vehicles and build appropriate schedules to meet people's travel needs. Therefore, the Department of Transport (DOT) directs specialized departments and units to implement the plan; requires transport units to prepare transport plans, ensure price stability and security and order during operations... to increasingly better meet people's travel needs.
In order to meet people's travel needs during Tet, many bus companies have prepared plans to increase the number of trips to serve passengers.
In 2024, transportation services in general and passenger transport in particular in the province will be strengthened. The restored and re-operated bus routes have been improving in quality, increasingly meeting the travel needs of the people. During the year, the Phu Tho Passenger Station Management Board signed contracts with nearly 50 transport units inside and outside the province with a total of 240 vehicles in operation (13 intra-provincial routes, 227 inter-provincial routes); the total number of operating routes is 85 (5 intra-provincial routes and 80 inter-provincial routes). It is forecasted that the number of passengers traveling during Tet will increase at some times of the day, an increase of about 15% to 20% compared to normal days on intra-provincial and inter-provincial routes.
In order to ensure traffic safety and order (TTATGT), limit passenger congestion at the bus stations during Tet, the unit has established a Steering Committee for passenger transport services; developed a master plan for passenger transport services during Tet at the station. Implement publicity, transparency and compliance with regulations on transport fares, prices and service fees at the bus station; strengthen inspection and control of technical conditions of vehicles and conditions of drivers before departure, resolutely not allowing vehicles that do not ensure technical safety to depart; strictly control not to transport prohibited goods. Carry out the arrangement of the station, environmental sanitation; propagate and disseminate to drivers, service staff on the bus and people about policies and service plans; closely coordinate with functional forces to ensure safety, security and order.
To better serve the people's travel needs, ensuring convenience and safety, passenger transport business units develop and implement plans and schemes for organizing transport activities; have plans to increase and reserve vehicles when passenger travel needs increase suddenly; ensure that vehicles participating in traffic are in good technical condition; thoroughly educate and disseminate to drivers to comply with regulations on driving time, driving speed, absolutely do not use alcohol before and while driving; remind passengers to wear seat belts according to regulations; post information according to regulations. Implement public, transparent and correct regulations on transport fares. Arrange staff to monitor speed, operating routes, continuous driving time and working hours of drivers during the day through the data system from car journey monitoring devices, images from cameras to promptly detect, warn and handle violations.
Mr. Duong Van Minh - Head of the Transport Management Department said: The Department advised the leaders of the Department of Transport to establish a Steering Committee to carry out the work of serving the people's travel needs well, ensuring traffic safety during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival season of At Ty in 2025. Assign staff to be on duty during the holidays; coordinate with the Department Inspectorate, the Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, the Traffic Management Department, and specialized departments of the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to urge and inspect the preparation and organization of services for Tet and the Spring Festival season of passenger transport units and bus stations. Strengthen the exploitation and use of data from vehicle tracking devices to inspect and handle violations.

Up to now, in addition to fully meeting the means of transport serving the travel needs of the people, the Department of Transport continues to direct road management units to strengthen the implementation of regular maintenance management. Strengthen road patrols, promptly detect and handle violations that obstruct traffic, unsafe traffic locations; coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to promptly prevent and handle violations. Develop plans to ensure traffic safety, security and order, and prevent traffic congestion on assigned routes. Ensure smooth traffic on routes managed by assigned units; arrange human resources and machinery to ensure traffic safety 24/24h, when traffic congestion occurs, immediately organize forces to clear the road.
The Department of Transport directs the inspection force to develop a plan and effectively carry out the tasks of ensuring traffic safety during Tet. Coordinate with the police force to regulate and ensure traffic when needed. Strengthen inspection and handling of violations of the following acts: Illegal encroachment, use of roads, sidewalks and road traffic safety corridors; violations of management, maintenance and repair of road works; traffic safety work at construction works on exploited roads. Continue to inspect the conditions for vehicles to depart from bus stations in the province....
