The 2024 high school graduation exam will be held on June 26, 27, 28 and 29, 2024. Below are the important dates to note. According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered for the 2024 high school graduation exam is 1,071,393; of which, the total number of independent candidates is 46,978, accounting for 4.38%.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, nationwide there were 30 candidates who violated exam regulations, of which 26 candidates were suspended from the exam (9 candidates used documents and 17 candidates used mobile phones).

As planned, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam at 8:00 a.m. on July 17, and consider recognizing high school graduation on July 19.

The 2024 high school graduation exam will basically remain stable as in the 2020-2023 period, especially the same as the 2023 high school graduation exam. The Ministry of Education and Training will only make some technical adjustments to the Regulations to ensure consistency in the organization of the exam nationwide. Specifically, the exam subjects will be clearly specified in the exam regulations to make it easier for candidates to register.

In 2023, about one million candidates will take the high school graduation exam. The graduation rate reached 98.88%, the highest since 2015. In addition, more than 546,000 candidates registered for university admission, reaching a rate of more than 53%, an increase of nearly 2% over the previous year. On average, for every 100 candidates taking the exam, 53 will enter university. Compared to the total target of more than 660,000, the admission rate reached more than 82%.
