Forest fire in Phu Tho, fire raging near gas station

A forest fire is occurring in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district (Phu Tho province).

On the evening of February 2, confirming with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Dac Bach, Vice Chairman of Van Xuan Commune People's Committee, said that a forest fire was occurring in the commune.

According to locals, the fire started at around 9pm today. Strong winds and dry weather caused the fire to spread, with a column of smoke dozens of metres high.

The fire occurred about 200m from the gas station.

At 10:00 p.m., firefighters and fire fighting vehicles arrived at the scene and actively put out the fire.
