March 24 , Provincial Police reported that on the night of March 22 , a fire broke out in Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district. At that time, the fire was discovered in an area with dry grass and humus; the location of the fire was also near a tourist area in Hoa Thang commune. Due to strong winds, there was a high risk of the fire breaking out and spreading to the nearby acacia forest.

Upon receiving the news, Hoa Thang Commune Police mobilized about 50 people including commune police, grassroots security forces, members of the Le Hong Phong Protective Forest Management Board and tourist area staff to the scene and quickly deployed fire fighting measures .
After 3 hours of efforts by local forces, the fire was basically under control. However, on the morning of March 23, the fire broke out again. Hoa Thang Commune Police continued to coordinate with other forces to participate in the fire fighting. After about 1 hour of fire fighting, the fire was completely extinguished.
Recently, similar fires have occurred continuously in the province. Most recently, at around 7:00 p.m. on March 20, a fire broke out in the Tau Mountain area (Phuoc The commune, Tuy Phong) covering an area of about 2 hectares. The burned area mainly consisted of shrubs and ground cover; not included in the planning of the 3 types of forests, but the incident is also a warning not to be subjective about the risk of spreading fires and large fires in the dry season with strong winds.
