Opening of the 33rd session - Binh Thuan Provincial People's Council, term XI: Electing 2 additional members of the Provincial People's Committee

Speaking at the opening of the session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized: The 33rd session is held at a special time, when the province, together with the whole country, has actively celebrated the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Thuan, and together with the whole country, celebrate the day of complete liberation of the South and national reunification; International Labor Day and President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. At the same time, the province is urgently implementing the contents and tasks according to the Central's conclusions on implementing the arrangement of the political system's apparatus and merging administrative units.

On the other hand, effectively implement tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, national defense and security, so as not to be interrupted in order to achieve growth targets according to the socio-economic, national defense and security plans of the Provincial Party Committee, resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, and plans set forth by the Provincial People's Committee. The meeting chair requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to uphold their sense of responsibility, actively study and discuss, and contribute specific and quality opinions on the content of the draft resolution submitted to the meeting. At the same time, requested the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, heads of agencies and units, according to their functions and tasks, to be responsible for explaining and clarifying issues that the People's Council delegates are interested in, as a basis for the Provincial People's Council to consider, approve and vote on resolutions.

The meeting chair held a secret ballot to elect members of the Provincial People's Committee.

At this session, the Provincial People's Council carried out the organizational work within its authority to dismiss and elect additional members of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. The purpose is to promptly complete the number, meeting the requirements of the tasks after the arrangement and streamlining of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Council agreed to dismiss the position of member of the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term for 7 men and women, including: Mr. Mai Kieu - Former Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, for the reason that the competent authority decided to retire; Mr. Tran Nguyen Loc - Former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, for the reason that the competent authority arranged other work; Mr. Phan Duong Cuong - Former Director of the Department of Construction, for the reason that the competent authority arranged other work; Mr. Nguyen Anh Nghia - Former Commander of the Provincial Military Command, with the reason that the competent authority allowed him to retire from work, waiting for the age limit for active service according to his military rank to retire; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Former Director of the Department of Science and Technology, with the reason that the competent authority assigned him other work; Ms. Nguyen Thi Toan Thang - Former Director of the Department of Education and Training, with the reason that the competent authority assigned him other work; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nam - Former Director of the Department of Transport, with the reason that the competent authority assigned him other work.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee presented flowers to the new members of the Provincial People's Committee and the comrades who had just been dismissed from the position of members of the Provincial People's Committee to be assigned other jobs.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Council held a secret ballot and unanimously elected the positions of members of the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Tran Huu Nhan - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Mr. Cao Son Dung - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

It is known that the 33rd session will take place on the morning of April 2. In addition to personnel work, the Provincial People's Council will consider and decide on 10 issues arising in the process of implementing the province's socio-economic development tasks.
