Technology goes hand in hand with quality
These days, the factory of An Phat Trading and Service Company Limited (Gia Nghia City) is busier than ever.
Modern machinery lines are operating at full capacity to meet year-end customer orders. It is expected that the company’s processing capacity during this year’s Tet holiday will increase by 15% compared to normal days.
Company Director Tran Thi Diu emphasized that food safety and hygiene (FSH) is always the top priority of the company, with a strict monitoring process from input materials to output products.
Each stage of production is assigned to each manager by the company, so that they can clearly understand and be directly responsible for their products. Investing in modern machinery and technology to support production is also a concern of the company every year.
“We invested more than 1 billion VND in 2024 to purchase equipment such as freeze dryers, baking machines, and stirrers. Thanks to that, production costs were significantly reduced, product quality, especially food safety and hygiene, was significantly improved,” said Ms. Diu.
Leng Gung Company Limited (Gia Nghia City) is also busy accelerating for year-end orders. This is the first wine production enterprise in Dak Nong with a systematic scale.
This enterprise is famous for its wines with typical flavors of Dak Nong such as: Can wine, cashew wine, coffee wine, cordyceps wine, volcanic ginseng wine...
Visiting the 3-star OCOP wine production area, one can clearly see the neatness, cleanliness and strict adherence to the production process for the company's signature beverage products. The production area is located deep inside the factory.
This space is closed by the business, limiting people from entering and exiting. And most importantly, disinfection must be performed and full protective gear must be worn before entering.
All raw materials are carefully selected by the company, pre-processed, dried, and carefully preserved before fermentation. Machinery and equipment for cooking and filtering alcohol are also invested by the company right from the first days of production.
“We have invested nearly 1 billion VND this year to buy rice cookers, wine cookers, and wine filters. At the same time, we have invested in upgrading the quality of packaging, in order to optimize the issue of ensuring safety for the food and beverages that the company is passionate about,” said Ms. Tran Thi Cam Nhung, the company’s sales director.
Currently, Dak Nong has 124 OCOP products with 3 to 4 stars. Of these, 17 products have 4 stars and 107 products have 3 stars. These products are highly appreciated for their guaranteed quality and clear traceability stamps.
Many typical products of the province are being consumed strongly in the last days of the year such as: coffee, cocoa, macadamia, cashew, tea, wine... With a variety of types and designs, with traceability stamps to ensure quality, Dak Nong consumers and those outside the province will have more opportunities to choose and shop safely for the end of the year.
Supervision from production to consumption
In the OCOP Program, product quality and food safety are among the important criteria. In recent times, many participants in the program have actively invested and brought to the market prestigious and quality products.
Localities and functional sectors have actively guided and supported organizations and individuals to complete documents and procedures to obtain certificates of food safety qualified facilities. Along with that, many entities have signed commitments to safe production and requested to be granted certificates of conformity or compliance with food safety regulations.
Localities have coordinated to organize many training courses emphasizing safe production knowledge. The popularized content includes: not using chemical fertilizers, encouraging the use of microbial fertilizers, organic fertilizers and environmentally friendly pesticides.
Dak Nong Agriculture Department also clearly identifies that it does not pursue quantity but focuses on quality. In the process of evaluating and approving OCOP product dossiers, requirements on quality and food safety are given top priority. The Department continues to guide production, processing and trading establishments to apply advanced food safety quality management systems.
Along with that, the Industry and Trade sector has strongly participated, accompanying production units, distributors and retailers. Inspection and supervision at production facilities have been strengthened. Thereby, the authorities have promptly detected poor quality products.
“We focus on checking invoices, documents, and papers of origin. In particular, warehouses and factories are closely monitored. The industry also strengthens propaganda on food safety and hygiene, helping businesses recognize safe foods,” said Nguyen Ba Ut, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hien, owner of Hoang Hien production facility (Dak R'lap) affirmed: "Now, we clearly understand that importing goods of unknown origin is a violation of the law. We will absolutely not import any source of raw materials whose origin cannot be proven."
