As Lao Cai Newspaper reported, in the early morning of April 13, there were widespread thunderstorms in some localities in the province. Particularly in Ban Cai and Nam Luc communes (Bac Ha), heavy rain occurred locally, causing large landslides on Provincial Road 160, disrupting traffic and damaging some items at the Nam Luc Hydropower Plant.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Head of the Technical Department of Nam Luc Hydropower Plant, heavy rain damaged some small items of the plant. Fortunately, the water and rocks flowed outside the area where machinery and equipment were placed, so the damage was not too great.

“We are currently reviewing, assessing the damage and developing a plan to remedy the situation, as well as flood prevention work in the coming time to avoid affecting the factory's operations and the safety of workers,” said Mr. Vinh.
* Step 1 road to Ban Cai commune has been cleared
According to information from Mr. Tran Xuan Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction: Through preliminary assessment, the entire route has 10 landslide locations, with a volume of about 3,000 m 3. Particularly at the Nam Luc hydropower area (Km64+700), nearly 200 m of road collapsed, causing complete traffic congestion.

Immediately after the flood caused landslides on Provincial Road 160, functional units of the Department were present at the scene to determine the volume and plan to mobilize machinery and human resources to clear the route as soon as possible.
The Department of Construction has mobilized 3 excavators and workers to fix the landslide. By late afternoon today (April 13), the authorities had basically fixed the landslides to clear the first phase of the route for people to travel.

Mr. Vang Seo San, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ban Cai Commune, said that through review, up to now, no households in the commune have been affected in terms of housing. Rural traffic routes are still basically safe.
