Bao Thang: Support for planting 600 hectares of large timber forest

In 2 years (2024 - 2025), Bao Thang district will plant 600 hectares of large timber forest under the post-investment support method, using the capital for replacement forest planting by project owners converting forest use to other purposes and paying into the Provincial Forest and Environment Protection Fund.

Of which, in 2024, 195.24 hectares will be planted, in 2025, 404.76 hectares will be planted in 13 communes (Thai Nien; Tri Quang; Gia Phu; Phu Nhuan; Xuan Quang; Phong Hai farm town; Ban Phiet; Phong Nien; Son Ha; Xuan Giao; Son Hai; Ban Cam; Lu town).

The total cost of implementing the Project is 10.2 billion VND (support for seeds, materials, fertilizers: 9 billion VND; survey, design, inspection, acceptance costs: 900 million VND and forestry extension costs: 300 million VND).

The project is implemented with the aim of replacing forest areas converted to other purposes, increasing production forest areas, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, contributing to stabilizing national forest areas, managing and using forests sustainably in forestry land areas, contributing to increasing forest cover in Bao Thang district. Raising awareness of forest protection, saving resources when building and implementing projects that convert forest use to other purposes; improving livelihoods, increasing income and living standards of forest workers in localities.
