The exhibition Da Nang - Past and Present taking place in the area of Bach Dang - Thanh Dien Hai - Tran Phu - Quang Trung Street (Da Nang City) is displaying more than 300 photos and sketches attracting locals and tourists.
In particular, the theme Journey of Change displays 84 typical works by 14 authors taking photos of Da Nang City, a space that receives public attention because of its interesting comparative presentation.
On each pillar (3 sides) placed on the sidewalk, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City has designed photos of many areas of Da Nang from the past to the present, helping viewers look back at the changes of Da Nang City over the years.
Photos of the Han River banks, 1980s and present
According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City, each work marks a moment of change, vividly comparing the past and present. The images placed side by side recreate an old Da Nang with low roofs, small dirt roads and a slow pace of life, contrasting with the image of today's modern city - high-rise buildings, majestic bridges across the Han River and busy traffic.
Scrolling through each photo, viewers, especially those born in the 80s and earlier, seem to feel the passage of time, from the trail of memories to the architectural works that stand tall, demonstrating constant innovation.

"This is an opportunity to look back on the strong development of Da Nang, from a small coastal city to a political, economic and social center of the Central region. The photo exhibition space Journey of Change is not only a story about the change of Da Nang, but also inspires pride, cherishes traditional values, as well as encourages each citizen to contribute to the development of a rich and civilized city", informed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City.
On each photo, the organizers clearly stated the author's name as well as the photo caption. To ensure copyright and objectivity, Thanh Nien would like to introduce and keep intact the information of the photo series taken by the photographers:
