That was shared by Deputy Director of Da Nang City Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An at the "Da Nang Professional Chef 2024" Competition held on December 10.
The contest is organized by the Danang Hotel Association along with a series of events including "Solutions and strategies for the hotel industry 2024", "Hotel industry supply products exhibition", "Tourism business prospects and trends 2025 seminar", "Responsible purchasing and sustainable hotel operations seminar".
Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An spoke at the "Da Nang Professional Chef 2024" Competition.
The series of events was organized by the Danang Hotel Association in collaboration with the Danang City Labor Federation, the Danang Culinary Culture Association, the United States Poultry and Egg Export Council (USAPEEC), and the American Soybean Council on December 9-10.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Da Nang Professional Chef 2024" Competition on December 10, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An assessed that culinary tourism is always the spearhead focused on developing sustainable tourism in Da Nang.
"Therefore, Da Nang really needs professional chef competitions to promote the exchange of knowledge and skills, create buzz in the local and international community, and contribute to the development of tourism in Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general," said Ms. An.
Mr. Le Van Dai, Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, said that the "Da Nang Professional Chef 2024" Competition is the third consecutive year it has been held, not only to honor the culinary profession - a noble profession, but also to promote the spirit of innovation and constant creativity of professional chefs in Da Nang, thereby increasing the overall culinary experience of Da Nang city.
28 professional chefs participated in the competition.
The competing chefs had excellent performances, delicious dishes, excellent flavors, and met the criteria of creativity, special combination of international ingredients in Vietnamese dishes.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh - Vice President of Da Nang Tourism Association, President of Da Nang Hotel Association said: The 2024 Strategic Solutions for the Hotel Industry Workshop, with presentations from leading speakers from representatives of Da Nang Department of Tourism, Agoda, Outbox, etc., has provided the latest updated information and tourism market trends, greatly contributing to the leaders and hotel managers in Da Nang in planning and developing business strategies in the coming time. In addition, the exhibition introducing hotel supply products is an opportunity for suppliers to launch and introduce advanced products, connecting directly with hotel business units.
"Regarding the 2024 Da Nang Professional Chef Competition, we will organize it annually, aiming to make Da Nang a "Common Kitchen" for international cuisines to be introduced. With ingredients from the world used in Vietnamese dishes, and Vietnamese ingredients created and used in international dishes," Mr. Quynh shared.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh - Vice President of Da Nang Tourism Association, President of Da Nang Hotel Association, introduced the automatic document-carrying service robot applied in the exhibition.
Chef Norbert Ehrbar - USAPEEC Culinary Advisor, Head of the Jury, assessed the competing chefs as having excellent performances, delicious dishes, excellent flavors, and meeting the criteria of creativity, special combination of international ingredients in Vietnamese dishes. Chef Norbert hopes that the efforts and talent of professional chefs in Da Nang will help them to further develop their careers, as well as contribute positive values to Vietnamese culinary culture.
The 2024 Da Nang Professional Chef Competition had 14 teams of 28 professional chefs, judged by 4 prestigious chefs: Chef Norbert Ehrbar, Head of the Jury - Culinary Advisor of the US Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC), Iron Chef Le Xuan Tam, Advisor USAPEEC, Chef Doan Van Tuan - Advisor USAPEEC; Vice President of the Da Nang Culinary Culture Association, Chef Nguyen Danh Hinh, General Chef of Lac Hong Wedding and Convention Center. The final victory belonged to the team from InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort with the dishes "Hoi An US Chicken Salad" and "Quang Noodle with American Chicken" (US Chicken Quang Noodle).
