Economic growth from a solid foundation

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the scale of Da Nang's economy in the first quarter of 2025 is more than 38,935 billion VND, an increase of more than 5,213 billion VND over the same period. This is the result of close coordination between the city government and the business community, effectively promoting economic pillars such as: tourism, industry, investment and services.

Da Nang's GRDP growth rate ranks first among centrally-run cities.

Tourism continued to play a major role as the city welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors, up 19.2%. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel services was about VND8,231 billion, up 21% over the same period. Many cultural events, festivals and international activities were held continuously, creating a strong attraction for domestic and international tourists.

The index of industrial production (IIP) in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 11.1%, exceeding the annual target by 9.5%. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 11.5%; electricity production and distribution increased by 6.8%; water supply and waste treatment increased by 10.6%. These figures clearly demonstrate the continuous efforts of local enterprises in the context of global economic instability.

Bright spot in investment attraction

By the end of the first quarter of 2025, Da Nang attracted more than VND14,655 billion in domestic investment capital and USD37.93 million in foreign direct investment (FDI). The number of domestic investment projects doubled, while registered capital increased by 4.3 times compared to the same period in 2024. In particular, the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park infrastructure construction project with VND6,203 billion is a highlight.

Up to now, Da Nang has 787 domestic investment projects with a total capital of more than 285,000 billion VND - a testament to the attraction and sustainable development potential of Da Nang in the eyes of investors.

Da Nang's GRDP growth rate ranks first among provinces and cities in the Central key economic region and fourth out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

In addition to economic growth, infrastructure investment plays an important role as a lever. In the first quarter, Da Nang implemented and started a series of large-scale projects such as: Da Nang Museum (VND 507 billion), Social housing for people with meritorious services (VND 223 billion), March 29 Park (VND 673 billion), Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center (VND 545 billion), along with many other traffic works and urban landscape renovations.

In particular, the private sector has accelerated strongly. FPT started construction of FPT Plaza 4 with a total investment of VND 2,790 billion - opening a series of projects worth more than VND 5,000 billion of this Group in Da Nang. Thuan Phuoc Bay Urban Joint Stock Company implemented the new urban area of ​​Thuan Phuoc, with a total capital of nearly VND 11,500 billion. In addition, the project of SIS Da Nang International General Hospital started construction, promising to create a breakthrough for the local medical infrastructure.

Speaking about the development orientation in the coming time, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang affirmed: “Da Nang will continue to affirm its position as an attractive, safe and livable destination. This is an important goal to attract domestic and foreign investors, while improving the quality of life for the people”.
