GĐXH – Doctors said that the patient's condition was extremely critical and life-threatening if not treated promptly.
On December 31, information from Hung Vuong General Hospital (Phu Tho) said that recently, doctors from the hospital's Cardiology Department successfully treated a foreign patient who was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
Specifically, Mr. NK (53 years old, Indian nationality) had a history of smoking cigarettes and tobacco for many years. The patient was brought to the hospital in a state of severe chest pain, cardiogenic shock, severe drop in blood pressure (70/40 mmHg), and slow heart rate (50 beats/minute). The initial diagnosis was: Cardiogenic shock - Acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction.
Thanks to timely intervention, the patient has overcome the critical stage. Photo: BVCC.
In particular, percutaneous coronary angiography images showed extremely serious damage to the three main arterial trunks: RCA artery 99% narrowed; PDA completely occluded; LAD 95% narrowed, LCx chronically occluded.
Doctors said the patient was in life-threatening condition if not treated promptly.
Faced with the critical situation, the doctors immediately activated the "ultimate plan". That is, using vasopressors to raise the free-falling blood pressure; placing a temporary pacemaker to keep the heart rate stable; and immediately performing coronary intervention using advanced techniques, deploying the placement of 3 stents to cover all dangerous lesions.
In a short time, the intervention was successful. When the last stent was placed, the patient's heart returned to normal rhythm.
After the intervention, the patient was more alert, blood pressure was stable, and chest pain was significantly reduced. After 5 days of treatment, the patient's health recovered and he was discharged from the hospital.
