Hospital 108 recalls products related to fake milk line

Recently, the Investigation Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security has dismantled a ring of fake milk powder production, trading and consumption in Hanoi and neighboring provinces. The subjects in the case are Rance Pharma Company located at Him Lam residential area, Van Phuc, Ha Dong, Hanoi and Hacofood Group Company, located at LK52-10, Phu Luong New Urban Area, Phu Luong Ward, Ha Dong District, Hanoi along with a number of other directly related companies.

After receiving the information, 108 Central Military Hospital reviewed and discovered that the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product supplied to the hospital was on the list of milk products produced by one of the above companies.

Although there is no information from the authorities about whether the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product is fake or not, however, to ensure the rights of patients, a representative of the 108 Central Military Hospital said that the hospital's leaders have directed to stop using the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product and recall this product to return it to the supplier.

At the same time, direct contact with patients who have been advised to use Hofumil Gold Plus milk products to advise them to stop using them and request the supplier to refund the amount of money spent on the product to protect the patient's rights.

The representative of the 108 Central Military Hospital also said that the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product used in the Hospital has gone through a public bidding process in accordance with the provisions of law.

Therefore, if the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product is concluded by the State authorities to be a counterfeit product, the Hospital and the patient will be the victims of this incident.

Consistently implementing the motto of "taking the patient as the center", 108 Military Central Hospital will regularly improve the process and find every solution to improve the quality of treatment, comprehensive care for patients, ensuring the best interests of patients are realized, the hospital representative affirmed.

Regarding this incident, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Official Dispatch No. 40/CD-TTg dated April 17, 2025 requesting the Ministry of Public Security to speed up the investigation, promptly draw conclusions on this case, to inform consumers and bring violators to trial in accordance with the provisions of law.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade strengthens market management, promptly detects, prevents, and strictly handles acts of producing and trading fake food, including fake milk.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs the organization to review and handle violations in food advertising activities in the press, on the internet, and in publications according to the provisions of law.

The Ministry of Health shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant ministries and agencies to review regulations on ensuring food safety for dairy products and take appropriate measures, proposing amendments to current regulations if necessary.

People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities focus on directing the implementation of review and inspection of compliance with regulations on ensuring food safety of dairy products in the area, strictly handling violations in accordance with regulations.
