Meanwhile, Baek-ho visits the lab to inspect and evaluate its performance. Mi-kyung and the team attempt to return but are thwarted when she accidentally bumps into her ex-lover, Ki-se, who has now become the CEO.

At the lab, Baek-ho criticizes what he considers a "waste of funds". He is then attacked by a magpie named Sunnyeo, a bird that Mi-kyung once saved and is very loyal to. Mi-kyung swoops in to save Baek-ho, but he rolls through a potato field and is rescued by farmers pushing a wheelbarrow. After being bandaged at the hospital, Baek-ho realizes that a solution is needed for Sunnyeo and agrees that the team is working hard, but he needs concrete results to keep the lab running.

The next day, Section Chief Hong is fired, and a new one is set to take his place. Mi-kyung is furious to see the sign changed, but when she goes out for a smoke, a heavy rainstorm hits. She screams at the sky, and just then, Baek-ho appears with an umbrella. He apologizes for being "Wonhan's bastard" (as Mi-kyung calls him), but she responds with a surprising curse.

The first episode ends with big questions: Will the potato lab survive? How will Mi-kyung and Baek-ho's relationship evolve? And who will be the new leader? A promising start to a healing romantic comedy where potatoes are not just food but a symbol of passion and perseverance.
