Ms. Trieu Thi Sa |
Having been attached to Lam Ha for 33 years, including more than 8 years being elected by the people as a prestigious person in the community, I understand that to successfully build a new countryside and escape poverty sustainably, the most important thing is to apply the motto of 'taking people as the root' in the mobilization work right from the grassroots level", Ms. Trieu Thi Sa - Secretary of Thanh Binh village Party cell, Tan Thanh commune, shared.
At the age of 60, Mrs. Sa still maintains the same enthusiasm and responsibility as in the early days of her attachment to the new land. If a cadre wants people to believe and follow, he must first be a role model. For Mrs. Sa, that is demonstrated through each specific action: always taking the lead in implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws; mobilizing her children and grandchildren to actively work in production, maintain security and order, live a civilized life and participate in local movements.
In her role as Party Cell Secretary, Ms. Sa actively advocates for changes in thinking and working methods. In weddings, no dowry, no invitation of shamans; in funerals, limiting the scattering of votive paper; when sick, go to the doctor instead of being superstitious. She also focuses on promoting reproductive health care, preventing early marriage and incestuous marriage, contributing to clearly changing the awareness of many families.
At the same time, she constantly promotes gender equality, creating conditions for her children and grandchildren, both boys and girls, to study and develop comprehensively. In her own family, she always teaches her children and grandchildren to be independent, responsible, and to share housework.
Not only mobilizing through words, Ms. Sa is a pioneer in developing household economy and spreading experiences to people. She encourages people to participate in technical training courses, transfer science such as: grafting high-yield coffee varieties, raising silkworms on floors, growing clean vegetables... Many times, she and people have gone to places to learn good models, helping people change their production thinking. "In the past, people relied on others, but now they are much more proactive. They no longer rely on the State, but know how to do business, learn and support each other to develop together," she said.
One of the greatest marks in Mrs. Sa's journey of dedication is her outstanding role in implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". Together with the People's Committee and the Front Working Committee, she mobilized the people to contribute more than 2 billion VND to build 3.5 km of concrete roads and renovate roads into hamlets. People also contributed 50 million VND to build the Village Self-Management Team fund, more than 450 working days to plant 4 km of purple flowers, maintain environmental sanitation, and contribute 81 million VND to install 74 light bulbs to light up 4 km of rural roads. Not only improving infrastructure, these activities also raise awareness of preserving landscapes and the environment, and building cultural life in the community.
Mrs. Sa is also particularly interested in preserving the national cultural identity. Realizing the precious value of the art of Then singing - Tinh lute, she and the locality established the Tan Thanh Commune Then Singing - Tinh lute Club with 29 members. This is a place for cultural connection and activities, contributing to arousing national pride among the young generation. In 2023, she chaired the organization of a Then singing - Tinh lute class for 20 primary and secondary school students in the locality. Many of them then confidently performed in front of the community. Teaching not only helps preserve culture but also nurtures the soul, morality and national consciousness of the young generation.
With such persistent and comprehensive efforts, in 2023, Ms. Trieu Thi Sa was honored at the National Conference to honor advanced models to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation. She was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee - a worthy recognition for more than three decades of silent dedication. Not only the government but also the people expressed their appreciation for her contributions. Ms. Mong Thi Mau - a member of the Then Singing - Tinh Lute Club, emotionally shared: "Ms. Sa not only keeps the flame of culture alive, but also inspires a beautiful and responsible life. What she does has spread the spirit of solidarity and humanity in the community".
Today, the image of a diligent, simple, and devoted Tay woman like Trieu Thi Sa has become a beautiful symbol in everyday life. Her story not only brings positive changes to a rural area, but is also a vivid testament to the power of unity, sharing, and tireless dedication to the community.
