NDO - On the evening of December 29, at the historic Ngo Mon Square, Thua Thien Hue province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the National Assembly's Resolution on the establishment of Hue City under the Central Government and the National Assembly Standing Committee's Resolution on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Hue City. Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and presented the Resolutions of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung; leaders of central ministries, departments, agencies and committees of the National Assembly; leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City, Da Nang City and the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Vinh Phuc, Lam Dong, Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh and representatives of international organizations.

Thus, from January 1, 2025, together with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City, Da Nang City and Can Tho City, Hue will become the 6th centrally-governed city of Vietnam.
